Do we actually know whether Stannis is actually dead yet?
IIRC at the end of S5 we didn't actually see Brienne do the job, or a dead body. It just cut to a black screen. The books provide no answers.
If they don't actually get their heads cut off or crushed or a spear in their face, there seems to be a good chance they will reappear. IIRC at the end of S5 we didn't actually see Brienne do the job, or a dead body. It just cut to a black screen. The books provide no answers.

What happened to all the thousands of Scottish that came through the wall and led to the bloke in charge of the watch getting killed. Are they all farming happily outside the base?

An exchange between Ramsay and Roose Bolton. They were talking about winning against Stannis' army and Roose asked who made the striking blow to Stannis. Ramsey said he didn't see. From their conversation I assume Stannis was killed by Brienne and his body found by Bolton men soon after to confirm his death.
Yeah, I remember that too. But lack of a body to me just means MIA, much like The Hound.el stovey said:

They have settled south of the wall maybe a little away from Castle Black, suspect we'll see them next week!A solid enough start and we probably shouldn't expect too much from the first episode.
I watched it in two parts, the first 15 minutes then the remainder after work, and enjoyed the first part (wall + North) quite a bit more than the rest.
Dorne clearly wasn't working so it was a good thing that the decided to wipe out most of the cast there. But even then they couldn't do that right and had two of the sand snakes competing over who was going to kill their own cousin. Wouldn't daddy by proud![rolleyes](/inc/images/rolleyes.gif)
Tyrion has nothing to do but will have more show time than he deserves as he is popular. Other than that no major gripes and everything set in the North was very good.

That scene had me laughing. Paraphrased below:
"Seeing a beautiful woman naked for the first time is the greatest thing in the world"
"What about killing a khal?" "Or breaking a horse" etc etc.
"Ok, Ok, seeing a beautiful woman naked for the first time is one of the five greatest things in the world"
'nods to his friends' 'friends nod back'
![rofl](/inc/images/rofl.gif)
A bit Monty Python-esque. "Seeing a beautiful woman naked for the first time is the greatest thing in the world"
"What about killing a khal?" "Or breaking a horse" etc etc.

I wondered that about Stannis, and agree about not seeing him actually die being suspicious but I think it was just the way the scene was done.
The camera switched immediately from Brienne's sword (presumably) making contact to Ramsay finishing off one of the last of his soldiers on the battle field.
I see no reason for Brienne to spare his life, her task was to kill him. I was actually more expecting Ramsay or someone to stab her in the back just before she made the killing blow to Stannis until the scene changed!
Regarding the Wildlings, I assume we'll see where they are this season. The area south of the Wall that runs east coast to west coast is called The Gift and is still a way away from Winterfell and other locations so I imagine they're all around that area.

Wildlings are in the Gift, as said by matey during his speech about killing JS.
In the books, Tristan dies as he believes he is also flame proof, have targ blood in him but alas he gets cooked. He might have been on a ship heading to see Dany but got offed or just on some other random ship.
The only story still in the books is Arya's

Brienne isn't exactly the merciful sort either, she slit a blokes throat while he was down and begging this episode, and slowly skewered that Stark bloke in season 3The camera switched immediately from Brienne's sword (presumably) making contact to Ramsay finishing off one of the last of his soldiers on the battle field.

Great episode. It almost glossed over the disappearing hounds when Brienne turned up... Where did they go? Also, when the two girls killed Myrcella's BF were they on a boat? I thought he sailed with Jamie at the end of S5?
Feck knows, I really did enjoy the episode though. Tyrion and Varys make great one liners for each other, Davos being a boss catching out Ser Aliser with his mutton request, Edd's off to fetch the Wildlings I presume and Ayra is starting her Daredevil training.
Trystane stayed on boat in port. Not surprising considering what happened to Myrcella.Feck knows, I really did enjoy the episode though. THe dogs is interesting, they looked small compared to those big-uns from a few years ago. They ran off when they smelled Brienne?
Anyway, wouldn't be the first time Brienne put down a Hound.

And Bran's...Wonder if there will be some more Iron-born this season?
Speaking of books I wonder if GRRM has simply given up? We may get "The Winds of Winter" some time next year, but at his current writing speed / age "A Dream of Spring" seems unlikely...
