I've watched it, thought it was over hyped tbh. Not a bad film though

biggrin I'll elaborate. It's a decent movie, but without spoiling it, in the end it's a formulaic paint by numbers series of perilous situations that seem very unlikely to be overcome. It is pretty to look at though.

Saw it at the weekend. Enjoyed it - but definitely not one of the best films ever made...

Why the fk does the Bradford IMAX have multiple 3d showings of penguins and st but not this film for gods sake!

Is it worth driving from Leeds to Sheffield to see it?

Well, decided (as I did with Star Trek Into Darkness), if you're going to do 3d you might as well do it right so off to the Giant Screen (formally IMAX) in Birmingham on Saturday before going to see Jimmy Carr (a present).

Is that a proper 70mm IMAX theatre or the more common IMAX Digital?

It (The Giant Screen at Millenium Point) is not IMAX anymore, it was when it opened but sometime in the last few years the licensing deal ended and they elected not to pay the people who sell the IMAX tech.

I saw Avatar there and then the last thing was the Dark Knight Rises and I couldn't tell the difference, it's just a really massive screen. smile

Birminghams IMAX is now at Cineworld at the fiveways, but I've never been as I think I'm right in thinking it's not actually all that big.

My normal work start this afternoon has been pushed to 8pm so I've booked to see this as an afternoon treat. So after saying I'll never waste my time on 3D again, I'm seeing it in 3D at the local Imax.

Well it says Imax but to me it just looks like the decent big screen we had back in the 70s/80s biggrin
