I noticed a few endorsement aspects creeping in (magnaflow already mentioned).....american chopper here we come.
And also Mike wearing a Mike Brewer Motors Tee Shirt. Regarding the AMG, I saw one go through the auctions the other week at Anglia Car Auctions. It was bid up to around £75K but was unsold. Never really knew too much about these beforehand but the estimate looked a lot at 90-120K to me although it was a full house 560SEC.

I remember them doing a sierra cosworth back along but any idea how to find out if they have done a fiesta RS turbo?
Fond memories of the one i had, even though for a short time.
Their Wiki page is pretty good, I think it lists every car they've ever done and a bit of a brief of work done etc. Fond memories of the one i had, even though for a short time.
I remember the Sierra ep, sadly the one thing I remember most clearly is that the did a nice job restoring it, upper the standard power a bit, then ruined the lot by fitting Runway tyres, on a 2WD Cosworth.
I enjoyed the 500SEC Episode. I love watching anything to do with engine building. I didn't care for the body kit, genuine or not, it's a bit much for my taste.
I thought it was an interesting episode, but gluing panels to a car and then fillering over...nah. Give it a few months and the cracks will soon start to appear. Give it a bit longer and all that metal work will be rusting (although maybe not so much in that climate). He may have sprayed underseal in there off camera of course.
It looked good but I certainly wouldn't buy it for that sort of money.

Watched the 912E episode tonight and my first thought was 'ewww a four cylinder Porsche!'. Sadly Pistonheads appears to be rubbing off on me, whether I like it or not.
I have a 66 912 & it's a very sweet steer 110bhp gets it down the road well enough good fun the only fly in the ointment is the short gearing on the 5 speed box.Marty Funkhouser said:
No Mike, blinging up the car by whacking as much chrome on it as you can get your hands on does not give it "personality".
Come back to the UK and resurrect ten year old bangers FFS.
The chrome window surrounds would have been enough. Mike seems to always go a bit overboard with the dame edna bling.Come back to the UK and resurrect ten year old bangers FFS.
I did not like the chrome headlight surrounds - they didn't suit the car at all. The other chrome bits were fine.
Something that irked me a bit on last night's episode was how it appeared quite badly edited.
We jumped from Edd doing something with the air box, all of a sudden, it came in "the four injectors are quite tricky to remove"
OK, so how do we remove them then Edd? We can see you wiggling something around a bit, but is there a knack to it? And where does a home mechanic get their own high pressure injector testing rig from?

Funny, but it annoys me when Mike starts working on the cars.
Guess he feels he doesn't get enough screen time
Agreed - especially when he opens up that enormous tool cabinet with "Mike's Tools" written inside the lid. To be fair on the last episode maybe Ed drew a line at all the ridiculous chrome Mike wanted to add and said he'd have to do that himself.Guess he feels he doesn't get enough screen time

I didn't rate the chrome TBH, it just doesn't sit right for me on a concertina bumper car. On ZX10R's above though, luvverly!
The black trim was introduced around 1975 although the chrome remained an option until the late 1970's. The bootlid trim however was always black from around 1972. (please feel free to correct me as all this is from memory)Here is my 1977 Carrera 3.0 with black trim and my friends 1974 2.7 Carrera with chrome trim (I prefer the black!) taken about 15 years ago. The white car was subsequently converted with earlier bumpers and bonnet to an RS replica.

I quite liked the car but the chrome headlights surrounds just looked off. I guess the front lights/wings are different on the 912 E as chrome headlight surrounds normally look great on old 911's.
One thing that did annoy is there was a big scratch on the front valance they they never mentioned. You often notice on close up's things like that which you would absolutely have done. The chipped up wheel nuts on the new Fuchs alloys also looked very off. Possibly HD makes all this stuff much clearer.
