...when Han, Chewie and Luke are all presented with medals?
Chewie only got a book token.

It's ok, that corpse fondler, butthole eyes in the new stty wars stole a Leia's medal from her still warm body to hand to Chewie in the most stupid piece of nonsensical fan servicing I've seen in a film.

In Terminator, for the Terminator to travel through time it had to be covered to look human. So how did the T-1000 travel through time in the metal in T2?
Here's my issue with Terminator.....they take part in a massive car/bike/lorry chase, that goes on for miles. They can't have a clue where they're going. They crash, and run into...a steel factory!! Why not a pillow factory? Or a biscuit factory. Or why a factory at all. Why not Asda, or the local library? All too convenient.
My issue with T2 is when they blow up frozen terminator they just watch all the bits Join together instead of going and scooping them up and throwing them in the molten metal

I think that's a good observation, INdy led the NAZIs to Marion, which jollied up the excavation. But they did have a rip-off medallion and they had the time, resources and willpower to dig around that place for decades. It's a reasonable assumption that they'd have found it one day.
The only reason they had a rip off medallion was because the Gestapo bloke tried to pick up the original during the bar fight but because it had been sat in a fire it burnt an imprint into his hand. He was only there because as stated earlier, he followed Indy from America. This is also why their rip off medallion only had markings on one side and so didn't have the correct height for the staff.

which was part of the plot, and on the cards since ATwell's husband was first mentioned. The medal with chewie thing is because fans wanted it 40 years later out of story, and it made no sense in story for RoS. That's fan service

one could argue it made no sense for "Cap America future to past version" would just sit no his hands and do nothing while the events of all the Marvel films we have had play out - make no sense....he lets iron man die, he lets war machine guy get paralysed, he lets black widow die, he lets millions of innocent people die - its totally against him and his character -.it also totally destroyed the time travelling rules they themselves had setup - it was total fan service that distorted the character itself into something he was not, just so we can have peggy+cap happy feelings at the end of Endgame....

Leia giving the medal to chewie had been on the cards since she hugged him in Empire, its implied there that she knew he was missing a medal and put it in her will. we can imply and say intent for lots of movie plots to make it fit what we think should have been....

now wedge coming back , that was total FAN SERVICE!

Everything the charcter Cap is about, and stuff that led up to what he did, makes sense and is part of the story, one can not like it, but it makes perfect sense and is in character. It is in no way fan service and dilutes/missues the term when it's used for in story decisions that make perfect sense for the character after every single thing he has done.
The medal thing in star wars makes no sense, butthole eyes wasn't there, it's not a thing in story, no-one in RoS was there save for the droids, it's something that was noticed by aggrieved fans and became a thing on the tinterweb, and that's the sole reason it was inconcluded, because it has nothing to do with the story with no setup whatsoever, it is a pure fan thing, the two things are not in anyway way similar. The medal thing is the perfect example of fan service, since one is inuniverse in character progression/ending and one is wedged in there because of the web.

How do you know he didn’t do something?

After Chris Evans gets fed up doing art house movies and people stop subscribing to Disney plus. Bob Iger and Kevin Feige will drive a truck load of money up to Chris Evans’ house and we will get “captain America: the missing years” and find out that cap was always in the background helping out in various ways and probably Nick Fury knew about it all along.

It’s gonna happen.

well a character arc is a character arc and responding to fans on a website is that.

I can see it happening. I think if Doc S 2 explains how this multiverse thing works, we'll know.
THe man out of time thing, it was Cap's motif for his arc. Maybe he's off doing something else in the battle of NYC.
One story I can see them doing in the next five years is Secret Wars
