Can I add as well The Departed.

Thought it was quite dull and didn't deserve the Oscar praise it got.

I think good films tend to come out of a refusal to compromise to keep everyone happy, so it's no surprise that there are really acclaimed films that some people don't like. LOTR is criticised for being too slavishly geeky in trying to replicate the feel of the book, to the detriment of the pace people expect from modern storytelling - I don't mind that, I loved the book. I thought I Am Legend sucked mightily, but then I disliked it mostly for discarding the ideas of the book and spinning its own inferior strand of Hollywood Will Smith hokum. I suspect that a version truer to the book would have played poorly to much of the audience who weren't fans of the book. So you decide which way to take it, and will be damned either way.

I think there's also a question of genre - I thought 28 days later was very well executed, but I mostly just found it unpleasant to watch. Same goes for those Japanese horror films and their Hollywood remakes - it's not a reflection of the quality of the film making, I just don't like them.

The Original Star Wars films - Great as a child, but watching them now at 23 years old they seem a little ... unfulfilling? Boring?

Out, now.

Don't be bringing criticism of the holy trilogy to this parish.

No sir, not here, we dont be needing your blasphemous talk.
I can genuinely say that I've not seen any of the Star Wars films.....no inclination to either....sorry

Rambo 1: First Blood is a good film. I saw it a couple of days ago and it was great. The other Rambos aren't worth the celluloid, but Rambo 1 is very good, if a little dated in places now.

That really was a rubbish movie.

Apparantly did wonders for sales of Lurpack at the time though...

Spiderman and X-Men films. I don't see what appeal they have to anyone except the die-hard comic book fans. There are comics I enjoy, but the films did nothing for me.
