Fifth Gear new series

Oh god, the sqeekings back!
And just because she can just about throw a M3 GTS around at slow speed in the wet does not a great car make. Every reputable journo has said it's over priced, too heavy and nowhere near as good as the GT3RS. Lets just ignore the fact that she reckoned the DCT was the one to have because you can't change faster (involement?) or the fact that a half cage in the back stiffens the whole car up!

I can't put my finger on why but I agree. For some reason I don't feel as 'involved'. Horror films, for example, don't seem scary on the computer screen and I can never work out why.
This is why you attach a PC or laptop to your LCD/Plasma.I thought everyone did this!?

I've got a 24" LED screen and its still not the same.
"not the same" In what way? It's obviously a subjective thing. I have used a 32" HD telly as a monitor\tv for years now. Can't say that I find it detracts in any way from the experience. Also makes life a lot easier for watching downloaded\streaming stuff. To be fair thought, I don't (and wouldn't get) have Sky or whatever.
That ice track looked really good. I think Plato was kind of spot on about the Aston looking all the same, but I can't really agree with the rest of the logic about it fitting an alleged gap and it's not a perfect car like he said when he was complaining about the gearbox. VBH is a bit annoying now, she spent half the review just making noises and she's really nothing special to look at, nor an exceptional driver (better than the average but there are women able to drive too.) I like the DS3, i'm not sure if I could live with the bright orange inside, but I know Clarkson loved it and I think he was going to order one.
I do still think it was a bit short (I watched on computer so just over 20 mins of footage) but it's still a million times better than a Top Gear episode.

Just watched Episode 2 which was another winner save for Vicky returning to the feckin' annoying grunting and squealing which really tells you nothing. The ice driving was thankfully short. Johnny didn't seem to know whether to major on the car or the scenery but at least the scenery was epic while the DS3 was the revolting mating of visual crassness with a rather inspid design, like something from a 2 year old's toy box, however good the car may be itself. Looks like the filming managed to tone down the burning magnesium dots on the front. It was also difficult to determine if the road was at all demanding.
I was less than convinced by Plato's argument about the Vantage but he seemed to settle on the side of caution, probably not wanting to affect AM sales because let's be honest, the same or not, we wouldn't want to lose them.
Still, another 21 minutes worth watching for the main part. I'm quite glad they've abandoned the F list celebrities they had in past series too. Shame the Team Test wasn't repeated.
