With the caveat that I don't remember watching a series finale that was everything I wanted it to be, I enjoyed it.
It was all too perfect. Axe did to Prince, what Prince had done to Axe, everyone got to be rich again, and even some minor characters got an 11th hour reprieve, but it worked because some of the dead-end storylines of the series became relevant.
I seem to remember the Admirals Fund being mentioned in the early series, but no, I don't think it really 'works', but then the way Prince took over Axe Cap didn't either.

Felt a bit like a reset/reboot to me.
Axe back to where he was when it started more or less, Chuck back where we found him, Prince dealt with (But in a position to rebuild). Side characters implying they're off to do other things but who knows.
Best not to overthink how they achieved that ending, it doesn't really stand up but they could run another season any time and it would feel like season one again. Chuck ain't done with billionaires and he'd turn on the biggest fish given the slightest sniff of a case.
Admirals fund? Meh! They had to/chose to write in a win. But it's a bit thin. I know nothing of trading but how tightly are traders accumulated wealth tied into a fund in general? Why would you not be continuously withdrawing a safety net and just reinvesting a little less?

Corey Stoll plays Prince as a fundamentally alright sort of bloke. The only questionable things he’s shown to have done are getting his wife’s lover taken captive and stealing the self repairing concrete idea.
I don’t think the story has done nearly enough to show him as being dangerously unstable and not suited for office

Really enjoyed it, just finished this afternoon.
Really need something similar to watch with Mrs AB, she's not into killing, shootings, violence etc which I'm sure in real life goes on with people playing with this amount of money i.e. Axe could have had Prince killed off pretty anonymously early on! Maybe I watch too much of the violent stuff!

For series like these, IMO the optimum run time is 3 series, after that they just become a bit stale.
Billions, the first couple of series at the end of each episode I would be searching the internet for some of the terms/jargon used as I simply didn’t understand them, in my view that made it good, I want to find it a challenge.
Suits, you have to remember is fairly old (1st series 2011) had an interesting premise, it was just flogged for too long.
Succession, I don’t know how I missed it at the start, I’ve only seen the last season and thought it was brilliant. I don’t think it’s ever worth going back as that would miss the point.
All 3 have one thing in common, characters who are hard to like; in my view that’s what makes them so endearing.

I've seen the first series of that, and you're right, no-one likeable in the cast, I don't really care who "wins". I might go back to it for the rest and see how it goes.Lost its way after 2 or 3 excellent seasons, then somehow got it back for the most recent one i think.
Some of the name checking and celebs made no sense to us brits I guess, and it felt like they were trying too hard at times to throw glamorous names into it for cameos etc, but overall I enjoyed it all.

Perhaps a bit too similar theme.

I did enjoy Industry quite a lot, but it had a tendency to force a sex scene or three in every episode. For no real reason. My wife didn’t watch it and was often in anther room and she commented, asking if I was watching porn from hearing the audio!!!!! Perhaps a bit too similar theme.
I hear a third series may be aired this year.

Billions messed up when they changed location from Conneticut to NY. You used to understand Axe's life, the freedom his wealth bought him, the idylic life. With the penthouse you kinda lost all that. In the last few seasons I missed the dynamic with Axe's family.Billions, the first couple of series at the end of each episode I would be searching the internet for some of the terms/jargon used as I simply didn’t understand them, in my view that made it good, I want to find it a challenge.
