Um unless someone has deleted my post just before it started where I quoted them too then that’s very odd.

My post has been deleted (not clear why)? - that would be why then.

What we really learnt from that episode is that without FF, then CH and PM don't gel well together.
100% agree.
Presumably, like everyone else, CH thinks PM is a pillock.
Everyone else?
Sorry. Everyone except you. smile
Yet audience figures are in the millions. It's funny, it's almost as stupid to believe everyone shares your opinion as it is to continue watching something where you don't like the show's main presenter. So yes, I expect you're right, everyone except me.

The problem I have with FF is that hie review of the Corvette left me thinking that I do not really buy into his opinion as it felt like this was the 1st supercar he had driven and did not really convince me he had experience of anything else to judge it against. Even if his driving skills were able to differentiate the differences.
Just what I was about to write

Weak episode but cars on TV so I continue to enjoy some of it on some level
FF's review of the Corvette was off. Like someone else had written it and he was just reading it though, badly.

This may come as a bit of a surprise to you, in fact, I'm sure it will, but many people watch it because it's just what is on at the time, and perhaps, hope it will at last improve. It doesn't, and they share that feeling with others (on here).

Next week, they might well watch it again, in the same hope the programe they once loved will at last improve. It doesn't, and they again share their view.

That, is why you get "reviews" (feedback) from lots and lots of poeple who think it's st.

People can't "hate" something they've watched unless they watch it........ (and judging by the "spades" of reviews in that direction, it clearly is, to an awful lot of people, st).
Well, tonight I’ll watch ‘I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here’ as it’ll be ‘just what’s on at the time’ this evening. Always hated it. Never watched more than 5 minutes of it, but I’ll sit through a whole episode with gritted teeth and share my “feedback” on here.
The difference here is that you've NEVER watched more than 5mins without turning it off. Those posting it's now st used to love Top Gear, and might watch it hoping for a good episode, or find some of the new episodes good and some st. That's fine. I don't mind the new series too much, I found the latest episode pretty weak in places and not as good as the one before. Am I not allowed to say this week's was st?

If they hate it so much
Have tired to watch it so many times
Been spitting feathers it’s so bad for so long

Why do they keep watching - it’s clearly addiction/self harm.

They occasionally come out with the standard response “U OK HUN” hahahaha

Put it on in the background last night whilst sorting some paperwork, which is generally the best way to watch these days. Liked the nitrous sand dragsters, agree someone else should have driven the Range so all 3 cars in the challenges.

Laughed (at not with) when PMG said 'the roller just oozes class - not with a loudmouth from Bolton is driving it it doesn't.

I wish Chris wouldn't keep with the false loud laughing at everything - I really like him on his own but the whole 'BBC1 entertainment show' thing is making him a caricature of himself.

Corvette performance figures are impressive, like the inside but not the exterior.

Strongman stuff seemed pointless.

Middling episode imo. Missed Flintoff as a diversion from PMG in Iceland. If they got rid of PMG I'd find it much more entertaining.

It's fine to comment good and bad, but you get a few on here who say that they haven't enjoyed TopGear since series 5, but they persevere just in case all while telling us that the BBC need to pull it and that it's an awful program.

I don't watch much TV mainly because I'm a music nerd so I'd rather be listening to something rather than watching it. I can genuinely go weeks without switching the TV on and it's usually just sitting there with a cover on.

However, I like cars and a show with cars in is always worth whipping the cover for an hour of chuckles but this TG iteration is just dull, it's not even very good entertainment on the whole. McGuinness is clearly marmite and I fall into the camp of wanting to throw the TV out of the window every time he opens his gob and the other two are just meh.

I'll probably still watch it but I wish they'd never moved it to BBC1 and dare I say it, it would be good to see CHM doing it again. At least they were genuinely funny on occasion.
Wait, you put a cover on your TV? Is it outdoors? If not... is that a thing?

Ah, Google suggests it is. Um... that's nice eek

Catching up with these on iPlayer while I'm away, because the kids aren't interested (though they are looking forward to the new TGT episode this month). First one wasn't bad, though I've no interest in Kidd and ended up fast forwarding through that. Just finished watching the Zorbing section - WTF was that all about? Not interested in caravans. I'll finish the episode tonight, maybe they'll talk about cars at some point?

While it's definitely slipped a long down the scale from "Project Binky" type content (I realise it was never up there, I'm just using this as a higher end of car geekery baseline) and towards a more "Supercar Blondie" type of audience there are still glimmers of decent content in there and as others have said it's better than watching any of the alternatives on live TV at that time.

I fell asleep during the last episode and came away wanting to go on holiday to Iceland but not hankering after any of the cars featured but I still got something out of watching it so it's OK.

Hopefully when restrictions lift and they can access more cars and places the content will improve, it can't have be easy filming stuff like this of late and coming up with new ideas is practically impossible in the shadow of what's come before it.

I still enjoyed it more than I enjoyed the CMH nonsense.

I would love to know where they fuelled the Roller. Even on a good day, 10mpg is aspirational yet they didn't mention it once.

Mind you, it's emissions are probably not a BBC green agenda item.

Also, the Icelandic roads weren't exactly challenging.

Not a chance of that though. McGuinness is an attention we and well on his way to passing Kathryn Ryan as the most overexposed celebrity in the UK at the moment. I see he's already constructing his human shield against critics though.

That's a bit harsh. Outside of PH, he's neither criticised nor hated as much as you might think. He definitely doesn't need a 'shield'.

Do people really believe that Paddy McGuinness is exploiting his kids autism, something he has talked about on several occasions to promote his career? Even by the moronic standards that are fairly commonplace on here that sounds very unkind.

As to Top Gear, I like Paddy's everyman persona, he just like one of us, not a professional driver, he started driving in the same crap cars we started driving in and he presumably realises how lucky he is to be doing what he does. He also brings the screen presence that was sorely lacking in earlier iterations of the show post Clarkson, when the studio segments were full of edgy silences.
