They did close all their stores and go online only for a time, but they recently have started opening physical locations again.
I find both them and Zavvi (remember them!) are usually as good as Amazon if not a little cheaper with their offers sometimes. Plus, for things like steel-books they often have their own exclusive art. Tend to get all my physical media from one or other after I've checked Amazon.

My HMV Steelbook just arrived today, looks beautiful and perfectly contrasts the Part 1 Steelbook (same artist).
That looks amazing. I recently upgraded my telly to a 77" 4K OLED, and also bought an Ultra-Bluray player. So although I already own Dune 1 on Bluray I think I may just need to splurge out on the 4K UHD steelbooks of both films.
(I still say the logo looks like "DUNC" though. )

Yes I remember you mentioning your upgrade, exciting times One thing I will say is this steelbook version sold out immediately when it went up so it's not available at the moment and I've not heard it'll be back in stock anytime soon. I'd be tempted to wait and see what they offer when the 3rd film comes out, I'd imagine some kind of box set and at that stage it might be better to upgrade to the 4k ones as they might have a nice special edition out. As this was a match to the first one I already owned I had to get it (although annoyingly, on the spine the logo is off-centre on the new one to fit "Part 2" so it's justified to the top. The OCD is real!!).
Another thing to note is on the disc they've not presented any of it in IMAX aspect ratio so it's all just standard. Doesn't bother me but I know some have been disappointed.

They seem to have a thing at the moment where any new 4K releases are £25.
Now I can just about stretch to £20 but I think £25 is taking the p*ss.
If you wait a bit they'll slip into the offers. I rarely buy a 4k at full price unless it's something like this where I want a specific version. I usually pick them up when they're in the 2 for £30 or whatever. Now I can just about stretch to £20 but I think £25 is taking the p*ss.
That said, I don't think £25 is really that bad when you consider a single ticket at the cinema is £20 odd (depending where and when you go of course). Obviously, bigger/better screens are going to be around that £20 mark and like buying the film you cold wait, get it on DVD instead etc etc but that's for seeing it only once.
Getting way off topic I appreciate but I won't buy a film unless I know I'll watch it again at some point, more than once. If you do just buy films to watch because you don't go the cinema then you can always just sell them on after and recoup at least half the cost.

They probably will do another release down the line with the IMAX ratios because $$$$.I think it was mostly 1.90:1 (only slightly wider than normal 16:9 widescreen) with some 1:43:1 parts (closer to the old 4:3 ratio). I think I'd prefer that to 2.39:1 all the way through which is what the home release will be. I certainly much prefered the IMAX version in the cinema even though I saw it on a small IMAX screen that wasn't a whole lot wider than the regular screen I first watched it on.
Still a great film no matter what ratio and looking forward to it whenever Amazon post my preorder out.
