Well the good news is that English won again. I wonder who'd win if everybody was made to sing in their own language...
From t'net.Language restriction till 1973 when any language (like when Abba won) home language reinstated in 1977. The last year of home language was 1998 when Diva from Israel won, we won the year before and were the hosts. From 1999 any language again.

Nope, I thought he was hilarious and more and more funny as the alcohol flowed night wore on.
He wasn't hilarious by a long way, certainly not as good as TW. He did get a bit better toward the end as, presumably, he'd had a few drinks and our own entry was heading for the bottom. We could do a lot worse than the commentator on Come Dine With Me next time.

I knew the UK guy was crap, but last is quite an achievement.
We'd probably never get into the finals if we didn't have automatic entry.
I think if we didn't get automatic qualification then we wouldn't bother. We'd probably never get into the finals if we didn't have automatic entry.

Flopping at the Eurovision effectively kills your music career.
Look at Jade Ewan who finished 5th last year, she is now with the sucessful, even if you can't stand them, Sugababes.
However look at our failures:
Where are they now?
2008 - Andy Abraham - Talented guy, not a brilliant song.
2007 - Scooch - Cr@p camp band, embarrasing song.
2006 - Daz Sampson - Teenage Life (I quite liked it), noone else did though.
2003 - Jemini - disappeared without trace.
Mostly it is people at the end of their careers (that are trying to revive them) that do Eurovision.
It is not good for someone to not deliver or have the wrong song on an international stage whilst trying to launch a career.

Well, I don't know where they are now but, Scooch were on 'Coach Trip' a month or so back. For those not in the know: 'Tis a C4 programme where they start off with some six (I think) couples on a coach trip around Europe. Each day one of the couples is voted off and, are replaced with a new couple.
Oh, and would seem the show is being repeated on C4 @ 2.55pm weekdays.
How embarrassing was our poor pathetic dance act in the interval, Germany was great, Ireland was great even slovenia where very good in fact all where better, and then there was us, what looks like a gang of pissed up idiots about to gate crash a steps concert. As these where pre recorded, what t
t that should be sacked allowed it to happen. Nice to see the yellow vest brigade intervening as well.

I've been using a PC that keeps crashing, a lap top and now an iPhone on this thread tonight.
Saw the first hour and a half, have to say I thought Albanias entry would have done quite well in the charts over here! Properly catchy tune, and well done!
The British entry wouldn't have passed the frist stage on X Factor or BGT, which isn't saying much, we could have done SO much better, cringeworthy.

I think we should take great national pride in coming last.
The thought that this awful homologised mess would ever comes to these shores again is a nightmare too far. We are reassuringly last and free from the ballaching dire shyte that infests the rest of 'Europe'. It is a complete freak show and one where everyone else in Europe knows we utterly and completely take the piss and 'reward' us accordingly.
Long may it last. Long may we come last.

Sadly couldn't take part in the annual PH fest, but did half watch the show. We had loud guests so didn't hear the majority of Norton's commentary until the guests fell asleep, and he definitely seemed funny.
Missing the commentary, I didn't get as indignant about the anti UK bias. However this year this led me to believe we are just rubbish, and don't get what everyone else wants I'm music.
Having said that almost all of Russia's points were political. Their song was dire.

I thought the best song won last night. My top three favourites were the winner, Greece and then France. I couldn't remember our song. I don't think the guy gave a bad performance but it just wasn't that good a song. Didn't Morrisey say he'd like to do Eurovision one day? Perhaps next year is the time! The winning singer was very cute though and I thought Graham Norton was quite funny, especially whilst the judging was taking place.
