The Big Sick.

Fairly enjoyable romantic tale inbetween a Pakistani stand-up novice and a young American girl.

All the usual comedy moments that you would expect from this match and pretty good acting throughout .

Not my usual fare but Mrs phazed was keen. Tomatoes gave it 98 percent but I will give it a sensible 7/10. Certainly better than your average space fillers on Netflix!

Watched the Last Jedi last night, it was OK

Somewhat bemused by the moral of the story though egotistical pilot disobeys orders, gets pretty much the entire resistance wiped out, but still gets treated as a hero

Tarkovsky's 'Stalker' - Soviet-era sort-of-science-fiction but not really. Very long, very slow, opaque story that went several miles over my head.

I know it's meant to be a classic, but apart from some unusual and interesting cinematography, it was unrecommendable. 2/10.

Currently watching Kingsman: The Golden Ringpiece. What a loads of pap. So far off the mark compared to the first.

I assume they paid the excellent cast huge amounts to sully their careers with such dirge.

3/10

Watched The Accountant last night. Been sat on my planner for a while but I've always found something else to watch instead. I was expecting it to be absolute crap, but I actually really enjoyed it. And there's something about Anna Kendrick cloud9
I think this is a hidden gem of a film. I'm completely in love with Anna Kendrick, I was 90% there then I watched Mr Right and went full on 100% stalker level! If you liked the Accountant you'll probably enjoy Mr Right, it's a bit weird but in a good way.

Purely for research I found this article, terrible site though, which is 10 reasons why she's awesome: https://www.cinemablend.com/pop/Anna-Kendrick-10-R...
Oh and her twitter stuff is great:

Jumanji 2

Went to see this yesterday with my son and we both enjoyed it. Obviously gonna struggle to get nominated for an Oscar, but there was plenty of action to keep us interested throughout and some genuinely funny parts.

another fan here. Saw it today and was surprised by how entertaining it was. Jack Black was very good, perfectly suited to his role, but I enjoyed all the characters and it did seem like they had a lot of fun making it

I liked Skyline. I thought it captured the uselessness of being in that situation far better than dawn of the dead for example

Watched Dunkirk tonight. Plodding, slow, inaccurate ste, one of the worst movies I'd had to endure this year.

You weren't in the correct frame of mind as it's Christmas.

You didn't see it in the cinema.

You're probably too young to appreciate it.

It doesn't have to be perfect but just symbolise, give an idea and summon up many aspects of that day. Can you imagine what it must of been like given the circumstances, I think not.

Merry Christmas.

More port please.

3/10 - st drills from the agents with trap door at the start.

Can't be arsed with it from then. If they can't be bothered, neither can I.

Maybe you need to wipe the cam cream from your eyes, but the guys whom blew themselves up were normal police (so dealing with explosive ordinance nkt top of the training requirement) not agents or HRT. If you only watched the first 5 mins isn't 3/10 a bit harsh? Or did it distract you from telling your pub mates the colour of the boat house in "Hearford" (or more importantly It's only really used for banging Beatrice the pub bike in the hoop), Walter?

Scicario is a solid 7.75 from me, the run into and out of Juarez is awesome. Brolin and Del Toro steal it. Looking forward to Soldado (Scicario 2 without Blunts character) due next year (trailer on Youtube).

Back to the Future. Haven't seen it in a long time so was worried it wouldn't be as god as I remembered, but it's still as enjoyable as ever. One of those films where everything just works perfectly.
