We are enjoying 'Suits', never seen it first time round, some really funny moments involving one of the characters, Louis Litt, and each episode stumbles from crises to crises in a wholly unbelievable but enjoyable almost old fashioned way. Enjoyable rubbish!!
suits is just fantastic TV

Have we had this yet?
I don't know how I missed this first time first time round.
Appeared on my Netflix this week.. pleasant enough little spy tale rather well done.
Part of a trilogy I'll now have to seek out.
Has elements of Bourne & Tinker Taylor Soldier Spy feel about...
But also a slightly TV movie gloss.. but I liked it.
I watched this recently and enjoyed it a great deal. It’s definitely worth seeking out the other two parts of the trilogy — the second part was my favourite. You'll find both ‘Turks and Caicos’ and ‘Salting The Battlefield’ on ITV X. They definitely need to be watched in strict sequence.
Really enjoyed this. Slow is good.
Bit too slow for me. Also, in everything I've seen him in, Bill Nighe plays Bill Nighe, no range there at all that I can see.

A Man of Action (Un Hombre de Acción), 2022
File under: I didn’t know that!
Low-key but intriguing Spanish-French film inspired by the life of Lucio Urtubia, a Paris-based Spanish anarchist bank robber, who hatched a cunning plan that affected global finance and in effect killed off the traveller’s cheque.

Re-watched Akira as that is on there now.

Thought provoking and has an emotional core and has of course been highly influential on a number of Sci-Fi movies that came afterwards.

I was wary of the 100% gushing from the critics regarding 'Beef', but I'm now on the 3rd episode - it's very well done.

Yes, hugely influential. yes

Still a great film even now too. Thank gods there hasn't been a remake though - it's fine as it is.

Talking of films that should never be remade, I present "The Princess Bride". As Cary Elwes said "There's a shortage of perfect movies in this world. It would be a pity to damage this one”

Beef was ok but not a work of genius and you can tell the episodes written by the better writers.

Ali Wong can’t half talk dirty though.

Night agent, disliked it. Very predictable to the point I guessed about 90% of all that would happen by the time I was about halfway through the 2nd episode.

Currently watching The Consultant, last 3 episodes tonight...really enjoying it so far.

Watched the Lewis Capaldi documentary last night. Quite interesting look at the life of a pop star. Of course a pampered life etc, but he hasn’t had it totally easy with his struggles with anxiety, and the pressure he was under to produce an album. One thing that struck me was how false the record company execs in LA appeared. Seems a good lad though.

Finished The Night Agent this evening. Pretty solid. Bit typical American in places but overall definitely worth a watch I think.
Half way through it, throughly enjoying it.
A bit typical American….I am on the first one and it is terrible. Cheese fest of unbelievable things so far.
Exactly what I thought. I've read stories it's the best thing on Netflix and how great it is. I'm 5 episodes in as the other half loves cr@p like that and it's like every other badly acted, miscast, generic, American twaddle.
Agreed. Sneaking into Camp David by hiding under a parcel shelf smile
I'm almost through episode 1 and don't think I'll be watching any more. It's shockingly formulaic. I can see how it's going to go already. There's some sort of conspiracy, I believe I've probably guessed who the bad guy is already. It'll be more car chases (I've had it with car chases, especially when cars coming in the opposite direction are so obviously spaced it's insulting to the viewer, no doubt a romantic relationship will develop. Pretty weak plot and some nonsensical things - a very long chat between the girl and the agent on the phone which is expressly for the use of agents to call in case of emergencies. Ridiculous. How they will make 10 interesting episodes, I've no idea
