I love it.
The looks, the badge, the name, the pano roof, the simple interior (screen aside) the soft suspension setting, the way it goes. The weight is bonkers, I really don't like heavy cars but I can forgive this one. The luggage space is not a biggie - as someone who's toured in an Elise and an Alpine you just pack accordingly.
The price is unnecessary.
Why do you feel you can forgive this one for its weight? Given the price tag and lack of size etc it seems utterly unforgivable to me.The looks, the badge, the name, the pano roof, the simple interior (screen aside) the soft suspension setting, the way it goes. It's over 300kgs heavier than the V8 powered McLaren with a folding roof which has even more power.

I do love Maserati's, I think the MC20 looks excellent but wtf...that weight is insane. No real storage space, either.
And 300K.
For the same money and same/better performance...F8 anyone?
Personally I'd actually look for something from 360 to 458 (hell, for the MC20 money you can have a 458 or 360 + a 550 or 599...whatever floats your boat). I know it's not like for like but standing in the Maserati dealership I couldn't possible get that thought out of my head. More involving, emotional cars.

£300k and it displays electrical gremlins when you corner hard.
Not aimed at this particular car, but I really wish manufacturers would stop putting most if not all controls on a touch screen. What's wrong with knobs and buttons that you can intuitively reach for without taking your eyes off the road? It may just be me getting old, but still.
They shouldn't be allowed to pass type approval if normal everyday functions require you to take your eyes off the road. Not aimed at this particular car, but I really wish manufacturers would stop putting most if not all controls on a touch screen. The MC20 is a strange one - why on earth would you design the car to have no luggage space at all? You couldn't even take it to a hotel in the country for a one night stay without having to have your bags in the cabin with you.
I did several European road trips in my Ford GT (with a passenger) - which has no luggage space at all other than a tiny space under the front bonnet. It is possible and you just compromise for the fun of the car. I was a month in Provence last year in a +8 + passenger. Limited space there too.

That, I'm fine with. Adjusting mirrors is something that happens pretty much exactly once in my ownership of a car.
I think that makes it worse, if its something you rarely there's little chance of remembering which sub menu this basic tax lies in.I agree with other comments, screens with sub menus shouldn't be passing any form of type approval for a motor car.
I noticed the very 1st thing Harry pressed on the screen, it didn't work and he had to press it twice.
I also recall his test on a Golf R, while trying to adjust the heater fan speed while passing through Burford High St, the screen doesn't work first swipe and he has to press again.
We have a Fiat Ducato, the infotainment doesn't have a volume knob, which is bloody frustrating. Just simply adjusting the volume requires a prooer eyes off road moment as i look to see if the volume is adjusting or not, because the switches in place of the knob are bloody slow and hit and miss.

I use the mirror adjust regularly when parking in a tight spot to help lign up on the box perfectly. Looking at the state of most car parks, most dont.
Yes indeed. And that leads on to another bugbear of modern tech, although it doesn't afflict the Maserati in this case - cameras instead of door mirrors. With a mirror you can simply move your head to get a different viewpoint if you need without even adjusting the mirror angle, but a camera is fixed.thegreenhell said:

So its a no for the Maserati so ? Haven't seen this yet, not sure I'll watch it either. Seems that Maserati haven't been paying much attention.
Maserati in my head make cars that will be £10k in 10 years where you can swallow some brave pills and have a bit of fun. How much was the one Wheeler Dealers bought? Not much IIRC. You'd have to be bonkers (not necessarily in a bad way) to buy one of these over the competition.
But variety is the spice of life.

The Maserati just doesn't have the same appeal.
Just caught up with it and my lord what is that for £300k ? Harry seemed to be in very forgiving mode. It's crap on the inside, engine sounds horrible and its far removed from what I think of as a Maserati. Makes me think the Emira is a thing of genius for a third of that price even with some Maserati (old school) flaws.
