Radio 2 drivetime - another show ruined

I'm convinced Jeremy Vine is often on the wind up and today he must have had a bet with someone to get a phrase into an interview. He had Chris Packham on as a guest discussing the disappearance of two Golden Eagles in Scotland. He ended the interview with and there is a cross Chris ![hehe](/inc/images/hehe.gif)
Didn't hear that bit but totally agree. He was borderline taking the piss discussing the stowaway landing in someone's garden as well. The Dead Ringers radio 4 podcast is worth a listen if you'd like to hear Lewis Mcleod doing a cracking impression of him on even more of a wind up.![hehe](/inc/images/hehe.gif)
Popped back in for a visit again
Yup, still miss the Simon Mayo drivetime show, and as I only really listen to the radio one morning a week driving to a client site, and one evening driving home it's not the end of the world. But I do (or did) tune in to R2 one morning and one evening per week.
Initially I thought Sara Cox would be quite amusing, and Zoe Ball in the morning would just be plain irritating.
As it turns out I've come to quite like the Zoe Ball show - it's 'chirpy' enough in the morning and is a decent wake-up with some decent music and even the guest interviews are OK. Sara Cox on the other hand - from an anticipation of an OK show she's turned in to the most irritating presenter ever; worse even than Steve (love the show) Wright. I can still listen to the Steve Wright show now-and-again and just ignore his inane drivel between tunes and his interruptions and sing-alongs - but Sara Cox, jeez shes just so irritating I have to find something else to listen to. And I never noticed any gender bias on Simon Mayo's all-request Friday; seemed an unobtrusive mix of males and females (and gender neutrals presumably), but with Sata Cox it's pretty much exclusively females - so much so it's actually noticeable. It's like Woman's Hour on a Friday.
And Jo Whiley - who by her own design or otherwise messed up the Simon Mayo show (and I never liked as a presenter even on her own show) seems to be popping up as a presenter everywhere now. Has she (and Steve Wright) got some dirt on someone high-up at the BBC?
Moan over...

Yes Fearne Cotton is monumentally s
t - even by Radio 2 standards. Droning on about her kids, again.
On a slightly brighter note, that self-obsessed Richard Madeley is standing in for Michael Ball on his Sunday show - he's only slightly less s
t than Fearne Cotton.
I really liked Terry Wogan and Desmond Carrington.![biggrin](/inc/images/biggrin.gif)

Can't listen to anything on R2 anymore, it's all drivel
Some decent stuff on R4 but you have to be very selective.
Radio wise I only listen to Planet Rock now, must be my age, (66).
Don't get me started on BBC TV as well
Self important Graham Norton with the same old guests on time after time
The BBC Breakfast programme, a combination of irrelevant drivel, dross, garbage repeated on a half hourly basis.
I pay my TV Licence for this s
te!
And as the overall pay increases by £2M they remove the free licence for the over 75 year olds. Talk about take from the poor to give to the rich!

I've been trying to put my finger on what makes her so utterly appalling recently![](/inc/images/censored.gif)
One of thing things that riles is the 'positive thing you are doing today' bit - she reads the texts out, congratulates the people, then almost always says she is doing similar - it's like a self promotion Fearnefest
Oh and that Madonna interview
