You're welcome.
Ah thank you! I have to say, I don't venture into this section too often so I missed that one. Don't think I will bother, the first one was brilliant so I was a bit sceptical as to whether the second one would live up to it.
Couldn't be much better than a trip to the cinema on a wet autumn Sunday afternoon.
Went to see something with a very simple plot. Nothing much really happens start to finish. Three old geriatrics, obviously from some Old People's Home, plus the son of one of their mates, stand around on a platform for a couple of hours. Only one of them opens his mouth, really. One just gurns a lot while wielding an axe. The guy at the back incessantly hits stuff and the other guy smiles once in a while. So, it's a bit like a version of "Waiting For Godot". Nothing happens - a plot even I can follow.....
F3*king Awesome: 15 out of ten!
Ladies and Germs. I give you: Celebration Day

Thanks to whoever recommended 'The Man From Earth' on this thread a while back, I watched it last night and enjoyed it. Very traditional sci-fi in the vein of classic Twighlight Zone and Star Trek episodes (not surprising giving who wrote it). Very low budget, but an intelligent story - the complete opposite of Prometheus
watched 50/50 last night. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1306980/
I put it on my Love Film list thinking it was a comedy, and its even listed as a comedy in other reviews, but there isnt much comedy value to the whole thing.
i really enjoyed it, and its more of an insight on how a 27 year old healthy young man learns to deal with being told he has Cancer which has a 50/50 diagnosis. its based on a true story too which i didnt know until now.
7/10
also watched the Rum Diaries. was nothing like i expected from the previews. quite liked it but then i am a big fan of Depp. based on a book by Hunter S Thompson of which i have not read.

Madagascar 3
I'm sure this storyline was vaguely influenced by the straight to DVD Open Season 3 circus plot but man, is this a great film, just like the previous 2. The baddie, Madame DuBois is a great characterisation in the genre of Cruella De Ville. The story is really good, even capitalising on the impossible to make it even funnier. Top notch.
On a more critical note, when I went to see Paranorman, I was antagonised by half an hour of "Episode 3" of Lego Nindrago and regrettably, Madagascar 3 was similarly blighted by this utter twoddle (Episode 5) apparently designed to put you off ever buying Lego. When you have a 3 year old who loves films but has a limited attention span, half an hour of Lego is NOT what you want or need. Can it, Lego!

Just watched Kid With a Bike....well, what can I say...My Mrs spent 25 living in French speaking Brussels so a story about a boy being bought up in Liege in a children's home and being fostered by a kind female hairdresser after his father rejects him seemed right up her strata!
Well, a sweet story but thats it. After reading IMDB reviews I thought it would be amazing but I was left totally empty. 5/10

I watched it at the weekend with the niece and I thought it was brutal.
I love these "kid" films (toy story, cars, monsters inc.....) but Madagascar 3 was terrible.
Some funny scenes but it was just stupid. Too far fetched and ill thought out. least with toy story etc they make a story that is plausible and keep some reality like not being able to jump a scooter 100 ft.

Would some of you cowards people who are saying you liked the film Prometheus please say so here...

Just watched "wild bill". Typical low budget English east end London gritty film. Typically brilliant, loved it. 7/10 until the last ten minutes10/10 There after. Top film.
Got round to watching this on Saturday evening. I understand why you've scored it the way you did; for me, it was certainly a good film, but I'd say it's a great film if you're a dad. Because being a dad will really bring the sentiment home to you.

I also hate to break it to you but toys don't come to life so the story is neither plausible nor based on reality.

Winter's Bone
Been meaning to watch this for a while after all the plaudits it received and I like a good gritty drama.
I wanted to like this, I really did. The cinematography was fantastic, portraying a bleak, poverty-torn US rural area with eye-piercing accuracy. The acting was excellent (particularly from John Hawkes - who I always remember as being that guy who walked in front of a truck in Miami Vice).
But, it was so dull. Mind-numbingly dull.
Very little happens as Jennifer Lawrence's character walks through wood after wood speaking to a variety of sinister, unhelpful inbreds about the possible whereabouts of her father.
And then it ended.
