Fred Elliott , I said Fred Elliott. The man who uttered one of my favourite ever lines -'Shall we be heroes Maureen ?'

Going on from the car theme the other week, why is Ray driving round in a G reg porsche probably worth a few hundred quid. I thought he owned a load of hotels?
Mystery solved; he purchased the car with his first pay check and it has significant sentimental value...! Lovely car.

Love the Muriel. Stan was one lazy beggar - wasn't he supposed to be a window cleaner? Never saw him clean one.

I seem to remember him occasionally walking round with a bucket and one of those pointy stepladders that window cleaners use. Possibly smile

Ray bought his 944 with his first pay packet - must have been one hell of a paper round.

He is supposed to own several hotels which presumably have conference rooms and private suites, yet he always holds meetings in the Bistro.

At last, Daniel's tapped Bethany. Not a bad move, she's like a 10 year younger Sinead, minus the accent which makes ears bleed.

He was always too "busy" round at 21 Inkerman Street, (when he didn't have a bad back).

Stan (to Hilda, dolled up and perfumed for a rare night out ) -" What's that smell Hilda "

" Woman, Stanley, woman "

Legends , the pair of them

Except its a mis-quote, Stan kissed her and it was taste not smell that he questioned.

In Corrie logic, as he presumably is Weatherfield's answer to Conrad Hilton, he will be buying a flat above a shop on Rosamund Street.

So Abbi, having been attending a party, drives around the corner and has the equipment with her to cause the Porsche to explode in a fireball. Great story again from the scriptwriters.
