Although I believe the actress providing the voice for Cheetara in the new version is:

Really? Now that was an ace cartoon, and quite different with it's huge story arc...was there anotheer cartoon that had one of these?

I think that was similar to many cartoons of the same type, like Dungeons and Dragons, where there was an overriding arc (the simple, 'to get home') but you could pick up and drop the series as and when and you wouldn't have missed anything, each episode was stand alone. MCOG was more along the lines of the modern serial (there were recaps at the start of each episode and what happens next bits as well I think), if you missed an episode you might have missed an important part of the story.

Emmanuelle Chriqui - best known for her role in Entourage.

Yeh that one did, and that one is also fondly remembered. Shame they don't make too many cartoons like that, Gargoyles was similar but was a decade later.
