Really liked this lastnight. Nice to see the 70s cars, even potato face from Outcasts didn't put a downer on it.
Made the same mistake they always make with 'period' cars though - they all looked like they were owned by people from the detailing forum. It spoils it for me when every car, including workmans tranny vans shine like a Bentley being delivered to it's first owner. It would be far more realistic if they were occassionally dirty with the odd dent.
I'm sure that Jag "jam sandwich" had a rusty bodged bottom door?

But then would you lend your 1970s pristine van to a production team to mess up, or would you kind of make sure they looked after it?

Well they could either mess the vehicle up cosmetically and clean it before the owner gets it back, or perhaps there is a gap in the market for a company supplying realistic period cars to film-makers that actually look like they are used. . . . . . scratchchin

If I had a choice of a night of drinking between Dyer and Statham it'd be Dyer. Besides, Statham would be going on about Kelly Brook all night and you can guarantee he'd be crying into his vodka by 23:30!hehe
I think he's probably let it go now. He's reportedly knocking off the lass in the new Transformers film, who used to be an underwear model. wink

I wonder if period vehicles are purposely pristine to force the point that they're still relatively new within the scenario? People expect old cars to look a bit cruddy, so having them look new further reinforces when the film is set, along with all that other stuff like rotary dial telephones, "Access" credit card logos in shop windows and rozzers who aren't dressed like Hereford Gun Club.

Was on Ch4 last night, says it was "based" upon a true story. How accurate is that?

Thoroughly enjoyable film. How much you believe is up to you.
It wasn't supposed to be a documentary. Locations were good. How the hell fuc do you populate Baker St with 70's cars?

Surprisingly good film, I enjoyed it. Only let down in one of the concluding scenes in which Statham attacks Mr Vogel (?) and evades gunfire leaping down the side of a car. Seemed a little bit silly and a bit too heroic. Otherwise, was good imo.

Moral of the story? Cheat on your attractive blonde wife with an even more attractive brunette, steal lots of money and live happily ever after.
