Now that was more like it, really enjoyed that even if I’m not sure what went on. RTD has redeemed himself somewhat.

Sadly, next weeks looks pish.
I watched it because of the positive reviews. It was much better than the first, which isn't hard. That's not Doctor though. Ncuti could be great, if the writing and direction let him, which won't happen.

It wasn't RTD, it was Moffat, which is why it was any good.

I was referring to Episode 4.

I don't generally watch Droo, but I watched this one, as did my wife, who is much keener than I. But she agrees with the below. Actually, she said it before I did.

This ep (the one without the Dr) was claptrap.

Why did people run away from the mysterious woman?
What caised the PM to resign?
What was the point of Marti?
Where did the Dr go?

Complete bunkum and RTD is relying on the fans not being objective.

First time it’s felt like Doctor Who for quite a while. Much better.

Finally a well written episode - quite a surprise after the drivel of the prior episodes which seemed written for seven year olds.
Classic, discomforting spooky scenes without any woke nonsense; I was reminded of the watcher and Tegan

A 'Doctor-lite' episode. It'll never be discussed in the same hushed tones as Blink, and i didn't really understand it despite watching it twice, but it wasn't bad. And Ruby looked absolutely heavenly.

(Probably why I watched it twice come to think of it.)

Tried watching but found it frustrating

Loved it as a kid, which could be the problem

I could watch a whole hour of just Ruby with no one else in the program.

The writers really did manage to snatch defeat from the jaws of a good premise this week, didn’t they.

I really enjoyed episode 4, although I'm not sure what an 8 year old me would make of it. It left lots of unanswered questions (as pointed out above), but was unsettling in parts and I'm quite comfortable with having loose ends in stories.

Probably would have thought it wasn't woke enough. laugh

As for unanswered questions, yes and no. I think the writer was inviting the viewer to use their own imagination a bit, so maybe there's no right or wrong answer to some of them.

I also think that some of those answers may become clearer in a later episode.

Nice work if you can get it, a full episodes pay for a five minute appearance! biggrin

An explanation would have helped as to how Ruby managed to be the old woman

That would have required the writer to make an effort

I’m fine with loose ends. Plot holes or sidestepping any semblance of plot are another thing entirely.

- what happened to the Dr
- how did Ruby become the old woman
- what did the old woman say to people
- why did a two bob Adam Driver want to be PM
- how come UNIT weren’t perturbed by the Dr’s disappearance / able to tell Ruby what happened

Probably a few more I’ve forgotten about

The first half was good, the second half tried too hard and there was a non ending.
What little we saw of the Dr, he was like a child with ADHD.

Pretty much sums up my thoughts.

I thought it started well, and was suitably unsettling. It would have scared 10 year old me I think.

Maybe it will all become clear in future episodes, but if you're going to do episodic story telling within an arc, it needs to be consistently done or it just becomes confusing.
