Mat at the Top Gear track

Really enjoyed that.
Personally, I found the over-enthusiastic hysteria very annoying, but I think that kind of exhuberance is a large part of the appeal to many of the 2.9M viewers.

I wonder how much of the track he cut? wink
Christ, if you can't be enthusiastic about doing Star in a Reasonably Priced Car with the Stig, I don't think this is the right place for you!
He is not and has not been the Stig for many years.

Thanks for the newsflash.

Got any other gems to share?

Water is wet?

Sky is blue?

Or perhaps why they still refer to him as The Stig?

It’s not needing to know right and left, it’s near side (kerb) and off side (middle of the road).

Been like this on cars for decades and works very well.

GT3 video.

Wonder if his insurance company takes note of him binning 2 expensive cars in a few weeks and wonders if they sold that liability of theirs way too cheap.

Quite like the Pink Porsche, looks better than any shades of grey that 90% of them are painted.

I doubt it since one was on track and one was with semi slicks in wet.

That wasn't a crash. No insurance was involved, and he also previously said he wasn't going through insurance for his Lambo.

I think the GT3 looked stunning in Rubystone, great choice of colour

Bad luck Mat. You really need to learn the importance of tyre temps and road conditions!

Hated the colour when I first saw it but loved it by the end of the video. Did anyone else think the new rear light didn’t match the other side (smoked wise?). What an extremely dodgy behaviour by the paint shop! What else did they break and cover up??? I wouldn’t be trusting them again.

Looking forward to Porsche signing it off and you getting the warranty and recalls back.

He's put a post on instagram saying 'no big deal'. To me its a huge deal. Its a serious breach of trust and they should have bought the link when they broke it.

It wasn't tyre temp - it was trying to go flat out through Follow Through in a 911 GT3. Ben Collins said he couldn't do it.

I think Matt got the idea from the Star in a Reasonably Priced Car segment from Top Gear: going flat out through Follow Through was always the sign of a fast lap. That was in a 60 bhp stbox though...

He also said that he saw Ben going flat through there in an FXX.

Ben said "that wasn't me, that was Schumacher" hehe

Yep, one of my favourite Porsche colours, was surprised when he revealed it as I didn't think it'd be his kind of thing.

Agreed. It's also fking idiotic from a business perspective - massive reputational damage done.

And to think (hope?) that Matt wouldn't find out, given how often he's taking these cars apart.

It's a colour that only looks good on a 964 RS to me. It's just looks wrong on any other car.

I have friends in the body shop trade, corners are cut and botches done regularly for insurance work. But for a company to do this for a cash paying customer who's huge on Youtube is beyond stupid.

Absolutely. They've just advertised that they bodge and lie to millions of potential customers.

Would be interesting to hear some of the more spicey "bodges" you've heard of from your mate?!

Exactly, why not be upfront and say we broke it, he was going to find out especially with it filling with water.
