Firstly a disclaimer, I did search for a previous thread and found nothing.
Anyway, this is a great film. In my opinion. Oliver is a d
head, I think so, because he thinks the world is very simple, that he knows everything and that he is able to fix it's problems. Like most teenagers then. The characters are brilliant, the acting superb and the photography is brilliant. It is so well shot and beautiful to watch. And I think we all wish we knew a girl like Jordana.
Quote of the film. "Thanks for living up a f

I just went to Smiths to buy the book, but they didn't have it so I've ordered it on amazon.com
Also, I know the film is intentionally dateless, but suggestions that it is set in 1987 can't be true because I spotted an M reg Audi 80 and a P reg Vauxhall Astra.

I read the book [first 2/3 outstanding, the latter 1/3 falls off to 'good'] but missed the film. intend to buy the dvd when i'm in the uk later this month. all reviews point to my rating it highly.
the cultural references in the book place it early/mid 90s but i did read that ayoade had decided to plate it earlier.
