Performances that chill you to the bone

I'm not a great judge on these, so I'll start with obvious Harry Oldman. Though I mean the performance on it's own, not necessary in a great film

I like 'Harry' Oldman too
Heath Ledger as the joker for me. Just a stunningly creepy unhinged performance...

Even when being beaten senseless by Batman he still managed to be in complete and twisted control...

Everything about the way he bought the performance to life just made him one of the best screen bad guys I have ever seen.

On a musical front the performance by Heart (Ann and Nancy Wilson) for the Led Zepplin in 2012 a the Kennedy Centre is quite breathtaking. On decent speakers this is amazing.

For me, the film 'La Vie En Rose' had many spine tingling moments. Here are two;

ETA Sorry about the useless subtitling or lack of, but you get the idea.

Amazing to think Gary Oldman sister is Moe on Eastenders. Can never get mt head around that.
Goodfellas; Ray Liotta
The one-take camera scene is one that sticks in my mind, total quality, timing acting lighting all in one. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Sr-vxVaY_M

Bob Hoskins, Long good Friday, "The mafia? I've st 'em."
Especially the last few minutes of the car journey when he realises the IRA have got him. See all the emotions going through his mind.

That is fking awesome. www.youtube.com/watch?v=mf2O3OAQjng
Firstly you would have to be sure you were going to get it right to perform in front of the guests of honour.
Secondly bringing a tear to Robert Plant's eye means they got it right.
But chilling? I would more class that as raising the hairs on the back of your neck.
But as I said fking great.
Robert Helpmann's performance as the Child Catcher in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang was pretty damn scary.
Christian Bale's Patrick Bateman in American Psycho was right on the money as well (despite him copying my morning routine exactly )
