I've never been a fan of either comediennes or impressionists so didn't see it, but it sounds like I didn't miss much.
I was surprised to see that she's worth nearly £80million though.
A lot of which she has burnt through in donations to the Labour Party in a desperate attempt to get her daughter Mabel selected as a candidate in a nice safe seat. I was surprised to see that she's worth nearly £80million though.
After going to school and university in the sunny climes of California, Mabel worked for Harriet Harman for a while so I'm sure she has been taught all about the current concerns of working people living on sink estates in South Wales.
What isn't a surprise, given her political connections, is that she rocked back up at the BBC. Don't think ITV, SKY or CH4 would have given her the time of day.

She was interviewed on Radio 4 (woman's hour, don't laugh) the other day, and was awkwardly unfunny.
I recall her being quite funny in the 80s, but she was cring-inducingly 'transatlantic' on that Irish bloke's show (I find him hard enough to tolerate, so I didn't watch for long...).Obviously someone in BBC commissioning owed her a favour from way back, but if that was a representative of the show, it's fully repaid!

Strange that the right wing press (which let's face it, is nearly all of it ) either previewed it (in case of Sundays ) or reviewed it glowingly . Anyway - you miss the point. The only way to judge any artistic work is by judging the work , not the person who did it. Judge the art not the artist ... Just watching it on I-Player, not very innovative or original, is it?
Not original, but definitely self aware. The opening of the show was a song where she basically says "this is the same show I've been doing since I was a kid".
Then there was the recurring sketch about a woman who's been out of the country for nearly 30 years and is out of touch.
