Put audience member on stage with celeb guest. Interview both. What car does audience person have? What do they do? What's there interest in cars? Give them a less than ordinary car. Something slightly at the very least exotic rather than the pieces of st jokes we've endured for too long. Have celeb and peasant shoot it out. Loser buys dinner for winner, or some such crap.

Put two audience members on track. Interview them. Fastest invited back - faces new audience member next week. Winner stays on - just like pub pool. Simple. Like Countdown, Octogear gets a good prize.

Make better viewing than snow plowing with a combine.

Interview a complete unknown? That would make great TV. I wonder why there aren't any chat shows on primetime TV where they interview normal people instead of famous people? It must be because nobody has thought to do it. You're on to something here.
Ever watch the X Factor burger boy? You know. Where Simon Cowell interviews "normal people instead of famous people". He even gets 'em to sing!

Imagine if some bright spark got 'normal people' to drive......on a high profile TV show.

No you're wrong. Definitely onto nothing there laugh

I'd wager if PH's were polled it would be a majority vote in favour of those wanting a shot at the TG track fastest lap. It was just a suggestion, thinking along the lines of what someone said here the other day. Thye wouldn't mind exactly that. A go at the TG track. What's not to like about seeing 'ordinary' people making tits of themselves, or not, doing what the stars in the reasonably priced car do. Except to make it more exciting, give the fastest a 458 or summat, just like the stars can afford or do have. That would make for good cheap TG telly I reckon. Better than watching a combine plow snow with three overpaid TV presenters goofing about.

Go and stand next to a road if you want to see normal people driving a normal car.
Yes a fantastic response though hardly comparable to watching a proper car thrashed around a track by an unknown for a winner takes all prize of say an exotic sports car.

Boring s. Do you grumps live in MK perchance?

Please never go into trying to make TV that would be the sttest idea I have ever heard. Audience members? Who cares, who knows them I certainly don't want to hear about some boring marketing exec and his M3 or some spotty youth and his 106. Winner stays on? Were you born this stupid?
Lovely generalisation there, which is exactly why it would be great to see a driver such as yourself, no doubt as fast as you are, getting your arse whooped on telly by some boring marketing exec M3 owner and a spotty youth who owns a 106.

So you see, you just confirmed what a great idea of mine it is. Think out the box my son. Think laterally. Driving. Driving good. Driving fast. It's a psychology - and you're already losing with your generalisation of others, you assume makes you better behind the wheel. Prove it. See you on TG - a new program coming to you soon laugh

Fantastic!
I can't stop chuckling at this, brilliant response to the idea.
Awe play fair I did suggest junking the POS car, "Give them a less than ordinary car......."
