I am finally over 'The Simpsons'
Discussion
Maybe its my age, maybe they have finally run out of jokes but I just dont find it amusing anymore.
Its become way to formulaic for a start.
Moe saying Whaaaaaaaat.
The Homer flyaway saying Whyyyyyyyyyy.
Lisa saying 'Its XXXXX from XXXXX what are you doing here'.
Homer giggling like a schoolgirl.
Perhaps they really should have killed it off after the film?
Am I the only one that thinks this?
To be honest I am finding Futurama far better. As for Family Guy I dont find that funny either.

I have tried so hard to like American Guy and my friend has often told me to switch on to an eye watering episode but I cannot see it.
Maybe I will try and watch from the start or can someone point out some really good ones.
I still think 'Benders Big Score' was wasted as a direct to video and would have made a far better film release than The Simpsons clanger. Personally I still think they got it the wrong way round.

- It's become a cartoon. Before you scratch your heads, I mean that they've abandoned the human factor and gone for surrealism
- The CGI lacks the charm of the hand drawings
Yes, I agree with the cartoon bit. At one time they were a normal family made into a cartoon and only used effects/surrealism during the Treehouse of horror episodes.- The CGI lacks the charm of the hand drawings
CGI is another thing. I look on it a a flat 3D world if that makes any sense (Just think of the fast moving camera angles).

I feel the family guy concept was to take the Simpsons and effectively parody it but add surreal and non political correctness in the dialogue and visuals, and like the Simpsons, no swearing...

I'm 22 now, I stopped finding it funny when I was still in Highschool, 'cause I'm well mature like that. Gassing Station | TV, Film, Video Streaming & Radio | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
