There are plenty of real criminals and thugs that would be better suited in prison, IMHO.

What a moron. However, I think the sentence is harsh. Community service and a fine would be more appropriate as well as being cheaper for the taxpayer.

Bit harsh imho.
I dont really understand the whole logistics if you will of jury duty. However, i assume he will get a criminal record for this which could in theory affect his whole life.
While i agree he should be punished the fact that he gets sent to young offenders, where as if he commited an actual serious crime he probably could of got away with it

He lied to a court, has a criminal record, needs mummy to hold his hand, and goes to london shows without his boyfriend, sounds like a politician to me

The only thing that bothers me is that others have got much less for far worse.

That then is the fault of whoever sentenced them. Why should too lenient sentencing by another judge affect what happens to this man?

Why not impose strict guidelines on sentencing? Two weeks jail for skiving jury service vs. avoiding jail after serial burglary and/or ABH/GBH, it doesn't compute.

Or just bin the judges making stupid decisions.

Jail time for this sort of thing is dumb. Get some free hard community labour out them, a fine and criminal record. Job done.

Save prison for the people who are a genuine menace to society.
