Climate change! Weve all been conned (as we all knew)
Discussion
So the reality is in the numbers after spending gazillions on eco babble enviroment saving bull the proof is now in the numbers!
Quote you couldnt make it up!
"New figures issued by the Met Office and the University of East Anglia Climatic Research Unit indicate that the planet has not warmed for the last 15 years. "
And rather than our planet heating up wait for it.......we are actually heading for an ice age.
I wonder how our deficit would look without the massive waste of time and money that is global warming adding to our bottom line woes.

Source please, the Met Office's website is still peddling the old stuff.

The term 'climate change' refers to a change in the average state of our climate and/or the variability of its properties.
While there are noticeable highs and lows in year to year data, over longer periods of time there is a discernible warming trend across the globe. Natural causes can explain only a small part of this warming. The overwhelming majority of scientists agree that this is due to rising concentrations of heat-trapping greenhouse gases in the atmosphere caused by human activities.

The thing is that the IPCC stated that the war,img can only have been anthropological for the last 30 or so years, so half of that has been cooling, so we are working on a 15-20 year period... That is by no means anywhere even vaguely near a 'longer period' and certainly not enough for a trend to be determined.Met Office said:

And how many fewer each winter? http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/article-209...
Was listening to a debate a few weeks ago on radio 4, I came in at the end so missed most of it.
The bit I picked up was the "were all going to die" expert conceding to the fact that the actual statistics over the last 4 years show no average global warm up and that if the average didn’t head upwards next year he would concede that he will need to re-think his position on MMGW.
Wish I had found it on Iplayer now.
My feeling is that now the government has started working out just how much cash we have available in terms of shale gas we are going to start seeing a reeling in of the whole MMGW thing.

The scale of expediture chasing a imaginary reduction in carbon footprints is now unsustainable, add this to the euro numbered diesel engine emissions regs inc the DPF at £1500 a pop,the low pollution areas ,the windfarms, the electric cars etc etc and we are talking serious money in a downturn, IMO a view must be taken here, anyway our economys tax grab is based on the motorist and his taxpaying we are already seeing the result of only a 10% drop in pump spend(coryton) how on earth will the goverment cope when all cars do 100mpg and pay no RFL and only the top 10% of earners can afford a car at all? The tax man has relied on the motorist for way to long and is looking for other revenue streams such a s stealth taxing via speed cameras, parking fines and the like actualy driving the local economy to the shopping centers which are much further away than the local high street further blighting local buisness.

If the government are going to go for Shale they must be allowing a "decent" time for the Mann Made Global Warming stuff to be swept under the carpet a little more. Certainly Huhne isn’t very supportive, although with a bit luck he will become somebodies bh soon and they don't put anothe eco loon into the job.
