I like the way she is paraded in front of the cameras with the "haul" Should do the same over here.
I certainly wont lose any sleep if she ends up getting shot, hopefully the UK Gov't will leave well alone.

The guy on the right looks like he's crapping himself, which given the usual sentence for drug trafficking in that part of the world isn't surprising I suppose.

F1 fan?

Sandiford, originally from Redcar, Teeside, has also lived in Cheltenham and Fulham, London. She has two children, Lewis Michael, born in 1988...

I am amused by the different faces on all of them. Maybe he has seen the size of the truth suppository the doc on the right is handling?

Some creative photography here, it makes the haul look a hell of a lot more than 5kilos until you realise the drugs are a lot closer to the camera than to her;

Orange bloke on the far right is Chris Harris awaiting the MOT man to finish on his M5.

The reason for parading her is to let the authorities give the impression that they're doing a top notch job of catching the smugglers.

The truth is, people like this woman are stooges. The customs officers are tipped off about them and make a big song and dance about catching them. Meanwhile, the proper shipment is already leaving the country on a haulage aircraft. The smugglers give up 5 kilos and an expendable idiot, in return for a blind eye being turned to the 50 kilos that's already flown.

That I'm afraid is the reality. These countries are more dispicable than the dealers because they're either in on it or are so incompetent they dont realise it. A container ship full of drugs has gotten somewhere without a hitch because they're busy fussing about this.

Although we should still say allegedly. For all we know the two tipsters are dealers themselves who planted it on this lady to distract attention.

I imagine she may regret dodging the death penalty when she realises how long she'll spend in a hole of a prison in Bali.

I think that is entirely correct. Everyone except the mule is a winner.

So is it 49g or 49kg, Daily Mail?

I've yet to read an article on that website that's actually correct, consistent, and without spelling mistakes. Where do they find their 'journalists'?

They allegedly found 49kg of cocaine in a bag, along with a Marlboro cigarette packet containing 23kg of the drug, according to The Times.
That's some cigarette packet! hehe

i sincerely hope the British consul leave well alone in this case.

they say that she will probably avoid the death penalty as she helped sting the other 4. they wont be so lucky (or unlucky depending on if you have seen the prison conditions out there).

Yes, of course they should. After all, what other sentence could possibly be a fitting punishment for someone guilty of the heinous crime of moving a relativley harmless, yet for political reasons illegal, product from point A to point B.
