I guess it will get moved to the news subforum, but thought it could be better here.

Ben Dover productions are sending out letters to O2 customers who have illegally downloaded their films. I guess a few teenages/ husbands will be desperately making up excuses!

I don't need visual aids to help me along, I prefer to use up some of the wk bank.

Reckon the only reason they are doing this is because not a lot of people would want to go to court or make a fuss or they will get exposed as a wker.

You're responsible for your internet connection. Illegal stuff; the contract-holders fault.

And perhaps most crucially the letters cannot hold the bill payer liable if someone else used their internet connection to download illegal material.
but also said

It is not clear how the bill holder should respond if they think that material was downloaded by someone illegally accessing an unsecured home wi-fi connection.

You're still responsible for your own connection. I wouldn't base my defence in a court case on the words of journalists.

And what about those on BT whose routers are open to other BT users by default?
