Bono now world's richest musician
Discussion
Thanks to a £60 million investment in Facebook in 2009 which is now worth £940 million.
Wonder if he'll put his money where his mouth is and give a sizeable chunk to charity instead of preaching at everyone else to do the same.
Apolgies for the Mirror link, I just heard this on the radio and this seems to be the only place reporting it at present.

This wealth has very little to do with his abilities as a musician and more his perceptiveness as an investor.
What chances that his skill as an investor amounted to "yes OK, if you think it's a good move" and if so at least he took the right advice and acted on it.ETA must type quicker when Kinky is around...
Either way it was (at the mo) a very successful move so well done that man.

I have a sneaking suspicion that Mr Bono isn't exactly stupid.

Maybe he read the report that says investment group as opposed to Mr Bono alone bought the shares?
Who knows - or cares for that matter. What Mr B gets up to is his business and if I don't like his preaching (which I don't), I don't listen to him and I don't feel I have to do what he says.
It's actually easy to ignore him.
What I don't understand is the constant need on PH to launch into attacks on him every time his name is mentioned in the media.
And he's not done too bad for a lad from Finglas.

And yes, he is a very astute individual and extremely talented, musically speaking.

However for someone who doesn't care you've made quite a few posts on this thread.
