So May just scrapes in on Friday with a majority of 8 seats, resigns as PM straight away and announces a leadership election.

Who's yer money on to step up to the plate?

I'm gong for backstabber, clever boy, Borris slayer, Gove.

He's got a job to finish amd nobody else would actually dare to go for PM at the start of the Eurodancing fiasco that's about to get underway.

If she has a majority she's staying.

Oh no the gods of doom already predicting a Conservative meltdown and the repercussions!

FWIW - likely candidates to lead the party in the event TM gets done / rolled:

BoJo
Phil Hammond
Amber Rudd
Gove will probably try
Osborne may well try.

I suspect though there may be some reluctance to elect another female leader at this point in time given TM's poor performance.

Osborne won't be an MP unless he sneaks back in at a by-election

David Davis vs Bojo in the final, Davis to win

Yes - thanks for that, forgot about that slight technicality! silly

Forgot about DD - not a bad guy actually, and probably the best choice.

Think about that for a moment..... if people vote Labour and TM loses, BoJo becomes leader. Better off voting Conservative then if you ask me smile

Gove has already demonstrated the necessary kill instinct that we require at present.

He's also bloody clever, which May certainly isn't.

Davis is looking old these days.

Osborne is too bitter 'n twisted.

Rudd is about to get dumped whatever happens on Friday.

Hammond too wet.

Should have had him previously but ended up getting New Tory CMD.

Please do not ever ever let this thread get out into cyberspace and let my best mate see that biglaugh

...... he & his wife were BIG DD fans, they helped DD's leadership campaign all those years ago, I was helping CMD (I was quite heavily involved in the party at the time), they have never let me live it down! It still comes up in conversation......and I ended up disliking CMD, fking clown he is / was.

A definate 2 more decades in the wilderness kind of guy.

The problem the Tories now have is that Cameron was at least likeable. Now he's gone they have yet another identikit Tory who most people would rather cross the road to avoid than have running the country.

Interesting times.
