I just saw a report that TB is currently the world's highest paid circuit speaker averaging 200,000 Pounds per pop! He has made $22 Million since leaving office two years ago and has a two year backlog. That works out to $9,000 / minute.

It is a safe bet that some will run just to secure this type of work afterward.

I would imagine it's a pretty big motive, though I doubt George Bush will threaten the top of the league tables if being a good orator is essential. Unless he could do comedy clubs...

I would imagine that there are several organisations that would consider £200k to have him talk good value.

You know, standing still. In a pre-organised location. hehe

The ultimate manifestation of the bourgois scam.

Society seems to exist for the furtherment of the 'professional taxer:' whether as (variously) bean counter or legal leech, there is no escaping 'the fee.'

And for what? To keep at bay those legions of other, state sponsored, meddling bureaucrats whose only function is to make life infinitely more difficult than it actually need be.

Actually, GWB is tied with Bill Clinton at $150K per speech. That was in the same report as Blair's. How much are you getting per talk? wink

Clinton was getting £100k for speeches over here a few years ago. At that time that was worth $200k so he's slipped!
