Tbh, they have pretty much the same views.

The BNP are just a little bit more extreme on the immigration front.

Radically different, but with similar policies on immigration.

No, UKIP actually have good ideas, BNP just go around dropping their foot in it at any time and come across as massive twunts

This broadcast didn't suggest such a gulf.

Out of Europe.
Stop immigration.
Protect NHS and education.
Protect jobs (whatever that means)

Nationalist socialism if ever I saw it.

More like traditional, or at least Thatcherite, Tories. Essentially a libertarian but nationalist party.

There's nothing libertarian about maintaining State-run monoliths or 'fiddling' with the employment market. A truly libertarian party would have my vote in a flash (as long as they promised to close down parliament by the end of the first term)

I think you'll find that all the parties want to protect the NHS, education and jobs.

They want to revert back to having a trade agreement with the EU, and freeze immigrants who want to move here permanently for 5 years, and then use a point system.

I really don't think they have much in common with the BNP.

Did you watch the broadcast? The message was nationalist and socialist. Nothing to suggest any kind of Thatcherite overtones.

I started this thread because I was surprised. I had previously thought, wrongly clearly, that they were selling themselves as the 'missing Tories'.

I want Farage to win in Buckingham though, I think it will be absolutely brilliant for speaker Bercow to get booted out. Highly unlikely though seeing as how he had a 57% majority last time round.

Disagree, a greatly reduced parliament, with statuary fixed terms, would be necessary to invoke the measures required to introduce a fully libertainian society.

There are as many shades of libertarian as there are socialists and Tories. Just because your flavour says one thing. doesn't make it gospel.

In fact, it's rather unlibertarian to even suggest it is wink

They seem to want to work for the interests of British people.

A strange concept I know as the current government obviously hates the British people.

As so clearly seen by Gordons display today.

Don't confuse libertarianism and anarchism, will you?

Anarchism is as much of a denial of human nature and economics as communism. What you need is the state minimally impinging on the educated man is possible, whatever you choose to call it.

It used to be the realm of the conservative party, sadly, they seem to be social democrats along with the rest of them.....

Apart from immigration, the BNP are a very left wing party. Big government, big taxes.

UKIP are more right wing - as in small taxes, small government.
