Classic. More of an own goal that the greenie advert with people exploding.

This is our future, people. Students who think that being forced to repay a loan once they earn over £21,000 is somehow similar to the plight of starving Ethiopians.

That's really quite distasteful.

Since I heard the details of the proposal, I've thought the objections were cretinous. Still, you don't need exams to get in to university nowadays so what did you expect?

I've been lurking around on CiF of late. This is precisely the sort of thing they'd be ecstatic about.

I keep going back to CiF - it's like some sick, twisted ritual I can't stop (much like coming here). But I can't get enough of reading opinions that I find completely and utterly devoid of common sense.

I think I'm in need of help.

(Can I blame Thatcher for my predicament?)
(Can I invoke Godwins Law without shame?)

I initially just saw the comments that their lackeys uploaded, however the torrent of abuse now displayed makes me proud to be British hehe I have added my own little "contribution".

To be honest, I think that modern students are right to complain about having to pay more for their 'degree'.

For the last 10 years so many children have been hoodwinked into thinking they were at a real university and achieving a real degree only to discover when they hit the work place that no employer considered what they had as a real degree.

What on earth was wrong with the old honest polytechnics etc?

What we are seeing is a backlash from those who realised they were just faffing about for a few years or those who genuinely thought their pointless qualification would get them a high paid job.

This is what happens when you manipulate and fool people. We now have an entire generation whose entire academic career is a farce for many.

Hopefully, the new structure will prevent future British children from wasting 3 years on something that on't enhance their life prospects significantly.

They have the right to complain. I'd imagine it's not quite as bad as starving to death though.

I was being veiled, implying that their education is so apalling that they shouldn't have to pay for it wink

sorry, but £7000 a year is not fair. Not a single soul from a less affluent backround can afford that. A cut brought in meaning only the rich attend university is wrong
I still don't understand this point of view confused

You don't pay it back until you earn £21k plus, you're not expected to rock up on Day 1 with £7000 in a suitcase you fking gibbons! ranting

If people can't work the basics out they shouldn't be going on to further education.

A picture tells a thousand words.
But let's just use a few words:

There is a vast chasm of difference between Famine Relief and Bladder Relief.

It is official they are so dumb it is mostly beyond words, I have a couple of relatives in uni right now and one in particular is very vocal on this and I am risking a proper family falling out as I am about to tell him what a workshy utter imbecile he truly is!

I'm hoping that's a misguided attempt at irony. Really, really hoping. Nobody can be that stupid.
