I'm always tempted to think of an "angle" in DM stories, however I can't find it here, it's a fecking disgrace!

Indeed a disgrace, tbf if I saw someone passed out on the floor and people just walking past, I would merely assume the person was pissed..

What goes through peoples heads if they see an old man lying on snow covered ground? Apparently fk all!!!!!!!!!!

To be fair it's quite easy to spot if someone is pissed or a tramp. It'd have been obvious to people this old man needed help. Still, so long as they get to Mc'Donalds on time and out the cold. I'm surprised he didn't get mugged while down.

Oh dear.

I can only think it was dark and few people saw him? At least that's what I hope happened.

A frail pensioner who collapsed in a busy street almost died of hypothermia after he was ignored by passers-by for nearly five hours.
Great-grandfather Brian Courtney, 77, was walking to his doctor’s surgery when he fell unconscious on the pavement.
Hundreds of pedestrians and motorists are believed to have hurried past him without offering help until someone finally dialing 999 at 12.40pm

so Basically are we are saying no BiB or emergency services passed along that street in 5 hours and MOP just could not be bothered to do anything?

Bystander Effect - well known, and would also no doubt apply to posters on this thread.

Indeed, because we've all read about the problems that might ensue from "becoming involved".
Not least, being sued, because of our actions, well intentioned though they might have been.
That's the st state our State has become.

There has to be more to it than is coming from the DM. I seriously don't believe that he led there for nearly 5 hours with no-one taking any notice, it simply cant be possible.
An old guy fell over a few weeks ago near the chippy when i was getting dinner and within seconds 3 cars stopped and a load of people nearby rushed to his aid. Within 2 mins a paramedic had run down the road from the nearby Ambiwlans station.
I just don't believe it is as simple as they say, maybe he was slumped in a doorway or similar, if no-one saw him fall they might think he is drunk/homeless etc and pass by.

I used to live in Salisbury and just can't believe there isn't more to this story. Our house was less than 300m from Bedwin St and it's a pretty busy street.

Shocking to read this story, but i feel they are hyping Bedwin Street up to be more of a thoroughfare than it actually is, last time I visited, and I've worked there for 10 years, saying it is lined with shops and pubs is somewhat exaggerated.
