Based on the shirt in the middle and the tie on the left, I would assume these sad cases have taken their noses out of their trough full of English taxpayer money for long enough to flaunt their sectarian oikball colours? I would therefore assume that the tie on the right is a Rangers tie?

How on earth can people manage to be quite so backwards as to take that sort of crap seriously? Roll on English independence so we hopefully don't have to have this bks clogging up the English news.

It's a story about that religion popular with morons which like all religion attracts extremists who believe the solution is to kill everyone who doesn't worship the same god as them.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-glasgow-west...

So it has fk all to do with your precious fking taxpayers money and if you want English indepdance then go join the English defence league who are equally full of backwards idiots.

Difficult to extrapolate from nothing but a photo, but anything with Scottish "representatives" involves people with their snouts buried deep in the trough of English tax money.

Interesting how the Scots are allowed to waste billions on a pointless additional layer of bureaucracy, and can go around bleating about wanting independence and that's all perfectly acceptable, but to be English and want them to get it and stop leeching off us is somehow extremist?

Yeah and all english representatives do it for the deep rooted urge to help their fellow man

And this makes them different from 'English' MPs in what way? Has any MSP claimed for a moat or a duck house?

Mind you, what on earth inspired the woman to wear a celtic shirt to parliament? She needs a good slapping for that.

As I recall, you (the Scottish electorate in general, as opposed to you as an individual) voted to have that extra layer in the first place?

There are two obvious options if you want to get rid of a layer of troughers - declare independence properly and make the current MSPs the top tier of trough feeders, or get rid of the Scottish parliament, accept that you (collective again) are part of the UK, stop whinging and get on with being part of the UK.

As things stand, you might have to suffer an extra layer of troughers, but that doesn't mean we're not paying for their daft policies!

To take the most obvious sort of result, English taxpayer money is subsidising the provision of fee-free university education in Scotland for citizens of every single part of the EU with the exception of England and Northern Ireland. That's nice for us, isn't it?

Anyway, with the benefit of the hindsight that comes from someone posting up the news story it relates to, and updating the thread title as well, this is now clearly off topic for this thread. Happy to discuss further on a new thread if you want to start one?

What makes it different in my view is that whilst personal expenses corruption is shameful, it consumed an insignificant amount of taxpayer money compared to the vast sums being thrown at pet projects such as free tuition fees and free prescriptions.

Our MPs may well be crap, corrupt and inefficient, but at least we get some benefit from some of the things they spend money on. Why should English tax money be used to provide free university tuition which English students themselves are precluded from accessing?

I'm sure all elected officials everywhere have their personal noses in the trough to some extent. It's MSPs using the trough to lavish vast sums of English money on their electorate in a desire to appear relevant and re-electable that annoys me.

Thank you Derek.

And if anyone is wondering, no, a Rangers shirt would not be acceptable either.

There is an underlying and increasing sectarian tension, what with the problems in NI escalating, that has spilled over to Scotland.
The bigotry and hatred that was once displayed openly at Parkhead and Ibrox 20/30 years ago has been forced underground and seemingly out of site by the politicians, but all that has happened is that it has now grown even more entrenched, unnoticed.

What we don't need are politicians who have no regard for their actions.

Now, now kermit back in your box. It's British taxpayers, period.

Of course this process has backfired on Liarbour in Scotland, but I think you may see a change in voting patterns soon.

It would be great to have a UKIP candidate of course. wink

I'm shocked that Labour woman actually thought wearing a Celtic shirt (or ANY kind of football shirt to be clear) to Parliment would go unnoticed and uncommented on. Seriously love? And you're an MSP? I know 8 year olds with more common sense than you in that case. Nose out of the trough and out of politics, and go somewhere where you can't cause harm to anyone, would be the best thing she could do if thats really her functioning level of thought.

As for the bigotry, it's horrendous on both sides, and it's got worse lately since Lennon assumed his position in Celtic football club. The look of hate on that mans face against the Rangers support is frightening, and his historic actions, spitting at the crowd etc, have no place in the game. Hence the bigots on the other side have been having a field day.

But then, as long as you have segregated schooling in Scotland, all you're doing is breeding hate for the next generation. I couldn't understand, when as a very young kid, why my best friend wouldn't go to the same school as me. Last I heard many years back he's now a serious bigot with some very questionable political idols. How much of that was through the socialisation he recieved at the school he went to?

Religion should be confined to the home. Not in school and not state funded as it is at the moment. Maybe then we'd have a chance of binning this nonsense over the next few generations.

I can't tell- are you against Scotland receiving more money than they generate in tax intake, or against them having their own parliament to decide how their allocated budget is spent?
