.....krist that looked like an accident waiting to happen at the speed they were going....hope she survives.
Personally I can see nothing funny in it......
Not saying what happened was funny, how it was reported by the BBC made it sound like a news report on something you would see in a slapstick comedy.Personally I can see nothing funny in it......

I know Ten Knots and within seconds she was half a mile away. Bloody Norwegians don't they know anything about physics and how different maths works at sea. Personally I can see nothing funny in it......
Standard practice for a transfer at sea is to keep both ships moving on a heading as they are then under control and not getting slopped about all over the place.
Same goes for a chopper transfer.
I will agree not funny though.

Agreed a transfer at sea is way safer and easier while underwayStandard practice for a transfer at sea is to keep both ships moving on a heading as they are then under control and not getting slopped about all over the place.

Why not lash them together though - surely the liner would have some anchor points for such a purpose?
Because it takes the helm of the smaller boat out of control of his vessel. A vessel is much more stable under her own power than being dragged along the side of a bigger ship.As I say if you have RNLI, Customs or anyone who knows about sea transfers the helm of the smaller ship will ask the larger to hold speed and heading and the smaller vessel does the work of holding alongside.
Blimey! I thought survival time in water that cold was around 4 mins. Hope she's ok.
My God now have seen the pictures and she was strapped to the stretcher so amazed that she didn't sink straight away. Lucky in that respect. Hope she makes it.
