It says on the packet "Prick with a fork"
I think that was wrongly attributed - I think the original was a package featuring Ainsley Harriot.

That said, it should apply to either...
Humphrey Lyttelton
Humph maybe, but also HIGNFY & News Quiz covered it.

Genuine Sainsbury's packaging.

Genuine Sainsbury's packaging.

The genuine article.

"Talking of celebrity endorsements, I saw a packet of sausages with a picture of Antony Worrall Thompson on them. It said "Prick With A Fork".....Bit harsh, I thought"

Nah, the real pro's take their steak to the self service veg weighing counter and put it through as carrots. Get the print off sticker and put it over the real barcode on the steak.

When you get to the checkout it scans for a fraction of price and the weight is correct so no alerts go off. You also don't have to do anything that might attract attention regards re-scanning things whilst being observed.

It would only be picked up if they saw you abusing the veg weigh scales elsewhere in the store, or noticed that the description of what you were bagging didn't match the screen.
Had he done this The Sun could really go to town, there could have been a headline along the lines of 'Top cock carrot top cook in the dock for carrot shop stock shock'.... Or something.

why did the chicken cross the road?

Because it was in anthony worral thompsons pocket.
Thinking about it, if he'd stolen the chicken too, and perhaps a large frying pan to cook it in with the carrots, and the white wine had been German, and then he'd been widely derided in Court for his actions, you could expand it to:

"Public mock top cock carrot top in the dock for hock cock and carrot shop stock wok shock'.... Or something...

I don't really do supermarkets but I wonder if he was objecting to having to scan stuff himself?

Comments in another forum suggest that theft through not scanning items is massive.
Ive done this by mistake scanning all the stuff I put two packs of cereal on the floor by the till ofcourse in Wales we dont have plastic bags to carry them in so I picked them up after scanning everything and walked out. It only occured to me when I got home that I hadn;t scaned them.

Jamie Oliver can feed a family of 4 for £5 from Sainsburys.

Apparently Anthony Worral Thompson can feed a family of 6 for fk all from Tescos.

Can't claim any credit for that - the wife found it on Twitter.

It infuriated me when i saw he only got a caution, 5 occasions... surely the deserves a custodial sentance...he isn't sorry, he's just sorry he got caught. He is wealthier than many people and 99% dont stoop to his level so it just adds to how bad it is in my opinion. Its just morally wrong on so many levels...Cant stand the chap!
Thats how it goes with low value thefts.

Atleast he got an official caution.

Most fkers get away with "community resolutions" which just means they pay the business the value of what they stole(some officers make them pay a bit extra),and just get a note on there file.

And they get away with it time and time again!

According to the Sunday People (wife buys it tongue out) his shoplifting is a bid to deal with the torment of being sexually abused as a child.
