Hurricane Ophelia.....
Discussion
I'm currently in Skerries, north Co Dublin. Lights are flickering on and off and it is very windy. An hour ago it was like a summers day, 20 degrees and quite calm. Took a drive down to the beach and I know now what it feels like to be sand blasted. Waves were high, but luckily tide is low, this will have passed by high tide this evening, hopefully. Everywhere is closed all public transport, flights, etc have been cancelled.

I've been monitoring Howth on windy.com as I originally hail from that area.Ructions said:

I presume that's the same incident I mentioned at 13.13 - unless there's been another unfortunate woman driver in Waterford.
I didn't see the earlier post, A man in his early 30s has died while in the course of clearing a fallen tree in Co Tipperary. Just been at Mudeford Quay near Christchurch. The tide was very high when we got there, sloshing onto the car park. Very dark clouds in several distinct layers, none of which looked quite right, with a baleful orange glow showing through from time to time. The tidal race from Christchurch Harbour was the fastest I've seen, with a line of heavy breakers just off the shoreline. Once or twice in the distance the Needles were lit up in orange just below the darkness.
Last night I watched the first 3 episodes of American Gods. Today I really felt like I'd slipped through to that world.
