I've woken up to another 3" of the white stuff! Not forecast whatsoever. It would seem the qualification needed to be a weather forecaster is the ability to wear a blindfold and stick a pin in a chart!
Hasn't it always been that way? I love it when they tell us what the weather was yesterday.. I'd love to know the qualifications required for that........
Update: it didnt snow (Cadiz province, S Spain) in the end, the flakes stopped in
Sevilla and Cordoba, where it hadn't snowed for about 80 years. The football match in Cordoba was postponed, which had never happened before in its 107 year history. The crowd watching Jerez against Valencia were frozen solid. Not literally, but almost so.

Schools in Blackpool are still shut.
Despite the fact it was a week ago it actually snowed.
And that all the main roads are clear
And even most of the side roads have melted.
But still the schools remain closed.
My girlfriends younger brother hasn't been to school since before Xmas.
Completely and utterly ridiculous.

So is it "elf an safety" or is it ofsted? Or is it teachers being snowed in? or even a combination of all three.Despite the fact it was a week ago it actually snowed.

Well lets see now. Despite expertise from ambulance followers its not "elf and Safety" We come under the same EU directive as everyone else (six pack) and as all the other countries who have snow for 3 months of the year every year are always open then that knocks that one on the head. Not sure about the ofsted thing. I think shcools penalised for opening on the grounds of absenteeism would make a great story in the dail wail and probably signal the end for ofsted, not a moment too soon of course, anything which starts with "of" means large group of tossers with a big bag of rules and procedures and no brains.
That leaves teachers snowed in. Well I blame the media. There are people who live next door to those who have been going to work every day yet they honestly believe they are snowed in. Snowed in is when the atv that takes you down the mountain to pick up the tractor to drive to the land rover to go to work gets stuck. Not when your BMW slips on the drive of an urban housing estate.

Freeze May Kill 60,000 in UK
As Britain’s winter of discontent threatened a fresh wave of blizzards and freezing temperatures last night, Gordon Brown stood accused of failing to protect the nation.
With up to 60,000 deaths predicted because of the relentless cold and the country’s major roads facing a gritting crisis, Downing Street was heavily criticised for the widespread chaos.
Conservative leader David Cameron slammed the lack of leadership at Number 10 – as the Prime Minister all but ignored the national crisis in a battle for his own political survival.

We have had none...at all.Apart from a bit of ice, SE Cornwall has had zilch, nothing, nada.
Zero snow at all.
.....But the school still managed to close for 2 days.
I've heard all the excuses and when I was doing my TP at Monmouth, most of the staff managed to make it in, despite the impossible conditions. Lazy bds
