Seems to me that current economic problems go a little deeper than whether or not the president has (D) or (R) after his name.

So a trillion dollars down the plughole in the quest to make the world a safer place

What a total waste of cash

How safer would the world been if the good old USA had spunked a trillion dollars on Fusion power?

I'm sure Haliburtons shareholders would disagree.

OK. Thanks.
Am I wrong to think that he was a hypocrite for railing against Clinton for the Monica Lewinsky sex scandal, whilst having his own extra-marital affair and abandoning his cancer struck wife? Not the most honourable man, don't you think?
Certainly not; as I said, I was no fan of him either way. Romney has always been my choice. BTW, it was Senator Edwards who left his cancer-stricken wife. Was Newt's cancer-stricken as well?

Yes. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Newt_Gingrich#Marriag...

But my mistake, he abandoned his first wife with cancer before the Lewinsky case, he merely was having an affair with another wife at the time of the Lewinsky case, whilst he was criticising Clinton for doing the same. Nice guy, really classy.

Indeed. Anyway, as stated, I am a Romney backer.

Iraq is back in the news given we're ten years on from the invasion liberation.

It's hard to believe that the people who spun us the lies about the WMDs got away so lightly. Such a massive loss of life, both Iraqi and coalition yet 10 years on accountability evades those who, based on these lies, took us to war.

On the tenth anniversary of the Iraq war, Panorama's Peter Taylor reveals the sources close to Saddam Hussein whose intelligence could have changed the course of history.

It raises massive questions about the competence/agenda of those who interpret the intelligence. Seems to me that instead of using facts to come to a conclusion about Iraq they came to their conclusion first and then found 'evidence' which supported what they had already decided.

Meanwhile North Korea have tested a nuclear weapon!
When I saw this thread had resurfaced I assumed it was because of Panorama. Should be an interesting (albeit depressing) episode...

I don't think it will tell us anything that most people hadn't already guessed.

I dont credit the Texan Chimp with much self awareness but I wonder if TB feels any guilt yet?
