Well at least the higher fees mean lower fees for foreign students.

Today I am embarrassed to be a student.

I for one think the violence and vandalism is a totally idiotic idea. If I was on the fence before this, I know who I would hate after today's escapades.

Shocking behaviour, we are supposed to be the future of our country, and a few of these total idiots doing this makes me worry for the future. Hopefully they are all studying media to sociology or some other semi worthless degree.

They now look like a bunch of s, if they, they including those that are trying to be 'better than yew', thought they'd get respect or something from this they now look like even more wasters than most of us already think.

Haven't read all the thread, sozza. biggrin

BBC report earliar used the words violent or violence so many times it started sounding funny!

Also, how come some of people were pretty much allowed to smash it up right next to the gavvers? Any idea why they weren't arrested their and then?

I think the price should stay the same, even free, as long as they get rid of all the nubbins on useless courses, make it harder to get in etc?

Whoever threw a fire extinguisher off the roof and into the crowd is in serious need of education.

They won't all be students I can garantee. Any sign of a potential ruck and half the yobs from London would have joined in. Back in the day students would have been to stoned to be bothered! what is the world coming to.
Back in the day you had to be a bit smarter than your average street vandal to be "entitled" to a degree!

(Agree on the yobs point, though - it's been a perennial problem with almost any form of organised protest for as long as I can remember.)

100% agree mate, The chance of the protest that was going to change anything were slim but when the violence started it went to none, and by them being violent protesting about saving money they spend more money with the policing and damage.
fuking pointless

On the other hand, BBC news interviewing Chinese students in a Beijing street about CMD's speech.

BBC: "So, democracy, is that good for China?"

<focus shift past student to Chinese Gestapo chappie who just happens to be loitering nearby>

Student: "Ummmmmmmmmmmm"

What a bunch of spoilt little darlings.

The Police will either be accused of being too soft, or too heavy handed, so they can't win.

It seems you can't do anything these days unless it's against the law, in which case, go right ahead.

I honestly can't believe what I'm seeing. It's so bad it almost seems like some sort of E4 comedy.

Anyone else think it's a bit ironic that this is the day before Remembrance Day?
