Looking at some stats it seems like the average IHT bill is £214k which (back of a fag packet) suggests that the average estate having to pay IHT is worth £1.5m.

That isn't "poor" by any means.
Lies, damn lies, etc.

Is that the mean, median or mode? Don't make the mistake of thinking that the distribution of estates will look anything like a bell curve. There will be a huge preponderance of estates close to the limit, a rapid drop off to the value you mention, and then a very long tail of large estates that disproportionately affect the mean IHT paid. Almost everybody who pays IHT will be at the lower end of the scale.
Yep. A very front loaded distribution I expect. Just like income levels.

Are they claiming it's all Truss's fault?

A few friends worked with Bailey in investment banks. None of them rate him in the slightest. They are quite bemused that he has managed to rise so far.

Jenkyns and Truss, enough to put you off your dinner or enough to encourage you to have one?

Given the whole point of jacking rates up was to drive inflation down by engineering a recession and an increase in unemployment...

If I were rich I'd buy all the tickets then be the only one who turns up, dishevelled and drunk and lighting up a cigarette.

Shortly there after stub out the fag and slowly leave the room.

Make sure you factor in the premium tickets right next to Liz...

Presumably they'll optimise profit on this by having her on a conveyor belt that runs around the top table.

I'd pay another 500 for Gary Oldman to go as Jackson Lamb and sit next to her.

Christ. Imagine paying 500 quid for a fancy dinner and ending up sitting next to LT! Clearly her influence as an ex PM is somewhat down the pecking order as others. She'll be opening new Aldi's next.

Bargain prices for a life long seat in the Lords too.
Utterly indefensible on every level.
