If you are, your bitcoin investment hasn't contributed much to getting you there...

A lot of the time and efforts of a lot of bright people is being invested in bitcoin

That doesn't mean it will be successful of course. It could very easily go pop and become worthless at any time.

But it has been hanging around for quite some time now

Recentish things I have seen that I take as encouraging for my holding include

The ongoing development of the lightning network, which may develop into something that enables bitcoin to be a useful means of exchange

Jack Dorsey's appearance on Marty Bent's Tales from the Crypt podcast - summary here https://www.ccn.com/jack-dorsey-beautiful-whitepap...

Wyoming's approach to blockchain, which is well summarised by Caitlin Long - e.g here https://caitlin-long.com/2019/03/04/what-do-wyomin...

Jameson Lopp's Bitcoin by the numbers 2018 edition https://medium.com/@lopp/bitcoin-by-the-numbers-20...

Nothing I have seen has made me add more to my holding since my initial purchase way back in the day. But nothing has made me regret that purchase yet. In strict $$ terms, then of course I wish I had caught the highs and lows on the journey so far, but I am happy enough to be along for the ride for now.
Indeed, during Crypto Winter while the speculators and weak hands sold up and vanished back into the woodwork there's been a huge amount of development at technical innovation in the space. Stable coins seem to be emerging as the next big thing. Lightning network is growing very well.

Bear markets are for BUIDLers.

Trolleys, you seem to crop up on threads i read quite a bit, and i simply can't work it out... Is your name a play on trolling and you're just rampantly taking the piss at all times? If you are, then hats off to you 'coz it's early partridge levels of subtle.

I'm gutted I didn't buy back in at £4k but I suspect it will collapse again it's way to volatile.

The 'news' on BBC 6Music has been slow/quiet enough for them to mention the $30k+ BC value. Could be the indicator you've been waiting for.

Don't know how easily you will manage to do the proof of id and all that stuff, but when I last dabbled 2+ years ago, this site was trustworthy and reliable for me. I sold in slices to mitigate risk against being ripped off.

https://bittylicious.com

2 colleagues used coinbase and it didn't go well.

we're several years in to cryptos being mainstream, and even the answer to the above is not obvious - hardly surprising bitcoin is still held by a relatively small number of holders.

Sign up to Binance, or Coinbase and sell for gbp, eur or usd. May need to use both in order to get past the initial smaller limits imposed on a new account.
