Has he organised an armed insurrection yet? Or massive grifting operations to con his gullible supporters? 30k lies? How about destroying the American Democracy in order to feed a pathetic ego?
If not, seems that Biden should be trying harder...

Biden's approval ratings still on the slide .. another loss of .6% within a week,
What are the reasons common Americans can not see they've never had it so good?

I've almost given up on America, a place for which for so long I've had such affection, admiration, and respect. It breaks my heart to see how far it has fallen in the last few years. I'm at the point of reluctantly accepting that if they reelect trump, or someone similarly odious next time around, then they've simply got what they deserve. To do it once might be considered a terrible misjudgment. Twice, well, no excuse.

. Don't want to end up repeating myself but an approval rating of 39.7% is still higher than lowest approval ratings achieved by 8 of the 14 post war presidents.

Quoted for posterity. Deluded arrogance is certainly a Trump thing (along with lies, greed, crime etc).paulguitar said:

Did you predict trump would win the 2020 election?
I did think he would win, but I dunno if I put it on here. No doubt one of your lot will spend a good 15mins of your life going through my history though How are your exams going?

There's every possibility the queen is right on this one. Celebrating as the USA sleepwalks into a potential Handmaid's Tale dictatorship.
Jeez Paul, get a grip.Let’s be really honest though, it doesn’t matter who sits at the big table on Pensilvania Avenue, the real power lies behind the throne. Always has been. Always will be.

Nonetheless, recent events have shown us the USA is in a bad place and at a significant juncture. Backroom abortions and attempts to end the democratic process are genuinely not impossible nightmare scenarios.

Seriously though, even though we sit at opposite ends of the table in many respects, I broadly agree with you on your above point.
Looking from the outside-in, (and I’m by no means an expert), the USA does seem deeply fractured. Probably more so than it’s ever been.
Speaking to mates over there, many of whom are blue collar and from rural or Midwest areas, they have total disconnect with what’s happening in DC and large metropolitan areas.
I’ll assume that we’re a not too dissimilar age, so could we see the break-up of the Union in our lifetimes, irrespective of whether a true moderate, (I’m thinking Obama?), a MAGA, (Trump / De Santis), or an AOC wins the Presidency????
I wouldn’t bet against it. At which point it’s chaos for all of us, even at this side of The Pond IMO.
