Just take some satisfaction knowing he will most likely never be near power again.

An absolute ghoul of a human being.
They really are pretty wretched the lot of them.

I like that. They really are the most useless bunch of politicians in history. Turned our great country into a failed state.
I do wonder where the ire comes from, it’s not just the Tories, never was. Labour being completely unelectable for years led us to this path, alongside the clegg debacle. If our country is so ‘failed’ why are so many flocking here? As for these guys loosing their seats, they’ll be making a ton of money and won’t care a jot in all reality.

Labour being unelectable led people to vote for them.

It isn't an excuse for their behaviour.

But I also think this is some of the problem.

They just haven’t really cared for the last few years which is clearly showing!

Agree with both of you. Sometimes you have to kind of pinch yourself to believe that we have allowed the country to be so run down.

Allowed it? People defended it and literally cheered for them whilst they were doing it and then have the nerve to say "how did that happen?".

Yup, that’s exactly the reality.

The Times yesterday suggested that a no confidence vote after the locals was now nailed on. Likely though that Rishi, although damaged even further, will survive to limp on. Perfect!
If they turf him out it will be further proof that they’ve completely lost their compass. While Sunak is a poor and uninspiring politician, the whole party is in a mess and another leadership contest is not going to achieve anything, quite the opposite. I think they’re petrified by Reform Ltd, it’s quite funny really.

The Tories are welcome to tear themselves apart… again… but can they please do it in their own time and not when they are supposed to be running the country.

And there’s the problem - the reality imo, is that not enough of the population care enough to actually do anything about it all. They will just moan on the Internet and in the pub but never be prepared to make a stand.

If it’s any comfort, then I don’t thnink it is any different anywhere else in the world - we sit back and let the political class and those who influence them do as they want.

Was it any different in the past or just in the days of 24 hour news and the internet etc. we see it more?

Trouble is when people push back and protest just look at the wailing on here re the student fees protest the countryside alliance protests.

Seems to be of the protest isn't your partcular cause and it messes up your travel plans then it's wrong .

Have a look at the Johnson threads.

Plenty of people up to their necks in it defending or making excuses for every grubby little thing that lot did.

We have a system where 40% pay net zero tax. Labour or Tory etc won't change that so 40% don't care. The 0.1% are immune from government policy even non dom status being repealed makes no difference as they will leave. So you have the middle left and they are told to shut up because they are rich.

Politicians of all colours have done this and are happy for it to carry on

Sometimes they do. The whole Brexit thing was the turkeys (many of us) being persuaded by the farmers (JRM et al) to not only vote for it but actively will it on and even today continue to cling to the idea it’s all one day going to be great if it was just implemented properly…

If the Tories keep putting people like JRM, BJ, Cruella etc. they will never get my vote again.

They need a complete reset, not just a regurgitated clown act

Good to see that the NI bribes didn't work.

Perhaps Hunt should have asked someone what proportion of the electorate actually pay NI. He would have discovered it's about 40%. laugh
Do you know I genuinely had to look at this twice. I actually thought you meant bribes to a Northern Ireland Party. Such was the dullness of the National Insurance announcement that it barely registered.
