From what I have seen of the trial analysis, the prosecution knew Cohen was the least trustworthy witness which is why they put him last after all the evidence had already been put in place by the previous witnesses. All Cohen did was confirm what the previous witnesses had testified to.

As a witness he did everything he could be expected to, and most importantly they failed to rile him.

If that is the case there are going to be millions of convictions in the US being thrown out becuase the evidence being provided to convict someone is coming from another person that has dodgy past. Criminals grassing each other up is all part of the US justice system, get your plea in first and you get a lighter sentence.
Understood, though my point (concern) is that this newly introduced and less well-known factor, illustrating Cohen's less than stellar character only needs to sway one juror for Trump to wriggle out of this. Indisputable evidence aside - just one of them has a niggle of doubt and he walks.

Actually, given the subject matter, it might be spot on.

The case was proven using other witnesses aiui - if Cohen's viewed by a Juror as a non-credible witness, he or she must disregard Cohen's evidence alone, but the case doesn't necessarily fall.

I think actually Cohens bombshell , and it was a bombshell, will put an iceberg hole in the prosecutors case.

They say the documents dont lie and Trump knew what they were for, yet they did lie as Cohen took the money and Trump did nt know, this could of been mitigated by the prosecutor preempting the situation, but they didn't, it was discovered on cross, it totally opens up the possibility of reasonable doubt for a balanced juror, if anyone of them are slightly Trump biased, it will sink the ship IMO

trump campaign blames a staffer working on his pwn initiative for the Reich video - same excuse trump had tried in every court case. It wasn't me it was someone else... but came as trump was reposting lots last night and ranting.

“This was not a campaign video, it was created by a random account online and reposted by a staffer who clearly did not see the word, while the President was in court,” said Trump spokesperson Karoline Leavitt.

Yesterday Justice Merchan limited the admissible testimony of the defense’s potential campaign finance expert witness, because he wanted to define the law, which Merchan said was his job. Now apparently their witness says he won’t testify after all.

Costello is back on the stand and faces cross from the prosecution, who are shhowing hi up as trumps lacky for wanting to represent Cohen to keep him compliant and not threaten trump.

Emails from Cohen telling Costello to stop contacting him, that he was big friends with Giuliani.
Costello denies all so Hoffinger just brings out more emails refuting his denials...

Edit: More emails showing Costello attempting to establish the Cohen-Costello-Giuliani-Trump backchannel in real time, trying to keep Cohen loyal to trump.

Costello just characterizes it as "getting everyone on the same page."

Cohen didn't want Costello, didn't trust him yet Costello boasts to his son

Not sure he was the killer witness against Cohen that trump thought he would be. It seemed he was there to throw dirt at Cohen but missed? More seemed to undermine his testimony.

Whoops - some witness
Costello was trying to convince the jury that he had Cohen’s best interest in mind as opposed to trump’s. Prosecution ripped that apart with more emails showing Costello was lying

... and you think that's how it actually works in real life?

Defense rests.

Trumps aversion to being asked questions remains. Colour me shocked.
