Yeah...the old "why should John Terry earn 100 times as much as a nurse?"

I guess the answer is, if I decided that's what I wanted to do, I could be a nurse. So could most people. However, no matter how hard I tried, I will never claim a place in the Chelsea back 4. Neither could anyone I know.

Wandering off-topic for a moment; these 4 constitute the start of a list of people I think could be usefully rendered down for glue and soap.

It's a long list.

A long list.

Utterly and completely wrong, you do professional artists and presenters a grave injustice with your words. True some will jump to the highest bidder (Mr Brundle?) but make no mistake many will want to be associated with high class work that will further their career and reputation. Give some examples of this constant flow you talk of.

How many can you name that have made their name on commercial telly but have defected to the beeb?
I did say 'true some presenters will jump to the highest bidder'. Do you actually read any responses?
Four is not exactly a constant flow is it.

Do you not read responses. I did say these are only recent ones I can think of off the top of my head. Over the years there is no doubt that talent nurtured by the BBC has flowed to commercial tv but there is little flow the other way. That's a matter of fact and surprised anyone would try and deny that.

That's just a matter of personal opinion. Personally, I think Chiles and Logan are both excellent. The other 2 I don't care about. But others will disagree. Not relevent to the argument.

How have the ratings fayred of those you note as a result of their move? And what of the programmes they left?

If the ratings are barely changed and the BBC is now paying less for its staffing costs it's relevant in that they don't need to pay top whack and the "losses" of "talent" aren't losses at all wink
