I suspect that were I one of his children then I would be seriously considering a honour killing about now.

Agreed, but it's probably not a great career move for someone in his position.
MP's should have a superior morality above what the law demands?

Hope his Mrs is first in the queue at the local STD clinic tomorrow morning though ....
The reality is she probably hasn't seen any action for a decade. Odds are she knows all about his preferences.

He's resigned... From the home affairs select committee.

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2016/09/04/keith-v...

But not from the trough/teat, unsurprisingly. No doubt his 'constituents will want him to stay, which, with heavy heart, he will do'.

When they are responsible for the laws... Yes
So he should always drive 10 mph under the speed limit too?
If you're heading up the Parliamentary Select Committee on speeding, he doesn't have to drive 10mph under, but he shouldn't be driving over.

HTH.

I feel a little sorry for him. Not much, but a little. You can take the boy out of Latymer Upper but you can't take Latymer Upper out of the boy. My fellow alumni from the 70s will know just what I mean. hehe

That's my point, he has broken no laws.

Journalists really have no business publishing details about his private life.

So is he a peodophile or is he paying an adult for sex?
Or a Member of Parliament who should know that such behaviour is manna from heaven for the press? What people do in their private life is of no interest to me, but I would hope that anyone in a public position of responsibility would show better judgement than this.

It's what journalists do, and they've done far worse in the past. Vaz would have been fully aware of the consequences should the press find out, and if he didn't think they would then he's very naive.

All seems very similar to the Max Mosley case to me.

Vaz's trouble is that he's spent too long being a supercilious and pompous prick so he has no reservoir of good faith to draw upon. I bet there are a dozen other MP's this story could have been written about but who have curried enough favour over the years that their predilections will remain undercover for as long as they don't upset the apple cart.

I'm not up on these things. Isn't saying he wil pay for cocaine if they bring it an offence or do they actually have to bring it and him then pay for it to be one? Guessing the latter but either way not the sort of person I want in this position.

Reports suggested that Mr Vaz had not resigned completely, but temporarily."

So a man currently overseeing a reform of Britain's prostitution laws shouldn't be exposed for using prostitutes. No conflict of interest there at all.
He is a sanctimonious tt, who pontificates everybody that appears before him at the HASC, while all the corruption and other serious allegations against him get swept under the carpet by Parliament.

I fully agree.

Aside from anything else engaging in such conduct puts him in a position to be blackmailed.
