Very sad news

Looking at the site of the crash on Street View, its a 5 lane straight piece of road just after a sweeping bend, must have been some speed as the only thing he hit was an aluminium light pole and some small trees. Guess that was enough to rip the car apart.

Like many, I've grown up watching the F&F films and I am shocked at this news. Paul seemed like a genuinely nice guy and a proper petrolhead.

Like others have said. I enjoyed the films for light entertainment and he was obviously loved and well respected. People have lost a great man in their lives. I woke up in a great mood. I feel sad now and may just have to watch the first film.

Ryan Dunn and his mate were off their heads drunk whilst driving after a night on the lash until the early hours.

Paul Walker was attending a charity event run by his own charity foundation raising money for disaster relief.

No comparison there at all in my mind and as much as I enjoyed jackass I don't think Dunn deserves a mention right now. Sorry.

Woke this morning and checked my phone whilst half asleep to a mate sharing the BBC news story on Facebook. Seriously speechless and spent the next 30mins reading as many news stories as I could just to check it was real.

Very sad and might just have to watch a F&F movie today.

Tragic news.
Desperately sorry for his young family so close to Christmas.
I'm sure they will take some comfort by seeing how many lives he has affected.

Will see what the investigators find before judging what happened.
I had a drivers front blow out yesterday coming off a bend on a duel carriageway at about 80 yesterday.
Something similar could have happened.
Might be mechanical fault rather than driver error.

The first quater mile race with Paul against Vin which takes much longer than realtime yet gives your a great feeling of speed and excitement was a fantastic scene.

Like many on here, I grew up with the F&F films and whilst the films were comically inaccurate and cringe worthy at times, they brought together car lovers from all over.

Paul has left a lasting impression on the world - something many people can only dream of.

Can't really say anything that hasn't been said previously. I enjoyed watching F&F when they were on and as many have said, from what I have heard he seemed a genuinely nice guy.
